just wanted to know about the pix

hello everyone i was just wanting to know some basic info. Ok whenever i recieve my bill i also get charged for additional data usage? and i was wanting to know if it is somehow connected to my vcast song ID or receiving pix messages or ringtones my buddies FWD me? Everytime i go into those i see the phone icon with an arrow at the top of my phone while i am recieving the message etc and i just want to know. if not then what the heck am i using as far as data goes???

Usually a picture message will cost .01 per message even with unlimited. Which doesn't make any sense. Its like: "Do i have unlimited or not?" Anyway, that has appeared on my bill before as well.

Depending on your current plan data usage can occur a few different ways. You mentioned song ID which from what I know sounds like the application that is driving these data charges.

If you use it often you can always sign up for unlimited data and avoid the 1.99 per mb.

It defintely sounds like it's the Song ID app. This does use MBs to connect to the web for the song info. Picture messaging, whether it includes a sound or not, does not use any MBs. You'll still see that little phone icon you're talking about, but it won't count towards MB usage.
