This seems to be an updated document, from what was posted for the June release, which never came. I wonder if this means that the update is being planned soon?

Soak test notification e-mails have gone out within the last week for the D2G so it's only a matter of time...

The Gingerbread software update will be available for download beginning on August 29, 2011.

Please be advised: This update is going out in phases so everyone will NOT get it at the same time.

I assume August 29th is for the D2. Can you also provide the date for the D2G Gingerbread update availability?

bigtee, are you still having problems with the camera not working since the software udpate? If so, what happens?

I especially love having the ability to take pictures with my phone when I am out & about.

Do you get any error message at all when you attempt to take a picture?

If, so I would recommend clearing the cache for the camera and try again.

Here are the steps to clear the cache

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>select ALL>go down to the Camera and Clear Cache

Please advise if your camera works once you have completed these steps.

HI,

My Droid2 got completely crazy after the upgrade. The screen is clicking by itself and I have not control of the device at all. I am about to do a hard reset but I am afraid I will loose all my text messages.

PLEASE HELP!

Is there any further info on how to get the gingerbread update in my D2G? My daughter just got a replacement phone from VZ and it had the 2.3 os on it. I went to the update screen on my phone and it still says there are no updates available.
