Screen burn-in..anyone else ?

Anybody else noticing screen burn-in ...I can detect it in the notification bar, from the HTC digital clock, and beginning to show where some icons/folders sit...fearful what may happen over the long run. Up till now I had mine set for screen to go off after 30 minutes of inactivity and normally had it sitting on home screen....this is only after two months of course. You can see burn-it when you have a solid colored screen....get Dead Pixel Detect to cycle through different colors. Wondering what should do ? Any hope getting a new one from Verizon ? So, be cautious how long you have the same screen showing. A guy who has the orig Droid has no such issues...of course different type of screens.

Thirty minutes...OUCH.... battery drain would be the concern for me having it lit that long. I never would had thought of burn-in.

Mine is set to one minute, but I am in the habit of shutting the screen off when I am finished using the phone.

It's under warranty, I would request a replacement and wait the month for it to arrive.

i'd prolly "try" to return it too. and when /if you can get a new one, have the screen timeout at 30 seconds or a minute. not tryin to be critical.....but there is just no reason to have the screen on for a half hour after you've used it. like budone said....the battery must be draining constantly??? it's like if you have a plasma tv and leave it on 24/7.....the burn-in will happen quick. i've had mine for 2 months....use it a lot....and no sign of burn-in. i have it set to timeout after 30 seconds. i figure if i have not touched the screen for any reason in 30 seconds then there is no reason for it to be on (it won't timeout if i'm watchin videos).

30 min is a little excessive. Battery, or plugged in this screen will burn after repeated 30 min intervals throughout the day. I'd take it back, get a new one and keep the default screen settings of 30 sec or less. Lesson learned, and good luck.

the types of screens used in high end cell phones (TFT LCD or TFT AMOLED) are characteristically incapable of burning in, if your pixels are sticking (the closest thing possible on this type of display, since they actually have to move) you have a defective screen and need to return the phone, either that or call HTC and have them fix it under warranty (I had samsung do this for an issue with my phone).

as a side note, leaving the screen on for 30 minutes after you use it, you are going to burn out your screen and battery before the phone is 2 years old, not to mention you are begging for other issues to pop up.

On other sites they have pictures of burn-in and it is quite noticeable. They like the poster here had a very long screen timeout period.
