My contacts were transferred from Palm to Incredible yesterday when I purchased the phone. Only a couple of people have a picture next to their name. I thought this was supposed to automatically update? Is there something I need to do manually?

I know the picture ID is a neat feature. I am not sure if the pictures you are referring to next to their number is the profile picture from facebook or pictures you took with your phone. If they are pictures from Facebook please make sure you have the Facebook account linked to your device by navigating to Settings>Accounts & Sync>Add Account >Choose Facebook>Add sign in credentials. If you are referring to picture that you have taken or saved to your phone you will have to set manually directly from desired picture or editing the contact and adding picture. I am guessing since you transferred from a diffrent platform I would guess you may have to app photo manually because the images on the Palm may not be saved in the same manner.
I think on the Palm, the faces came from the Facebook pages -- is that not the case with the Droid?
I had mine transferred from my iPhone and none of the pictures transferred either. With the iPhone they were embedded in the contact file. What I had to do was move pics into Gallery and then simply choose one and assign it to a contact. To move pics to Gallery connect the phone with USB to your computer where the pics are stored. Pull the Notifications screen down and select "use as disk drive" option and then hit done. Double click on the drive icon (your phone) and open it. Then look for the DCIM folder - this is where pictures are stored. Drag pics from your computer into the DCIM file. When you are finished be sure and unmount the phone (drive). Now when you go into Gallery on your phone the pics you moved over will be there.
