Phone not updating Facebook Contacts

I recently had to get a new Droid 2. I used backup assistance and all my phone numbers are in the new phone but my phone will not update the pictures with Facebook. When I go into my contacts it does not even show a facebook profile linked to the client. I have tried everything. I have deleted the Facebook app and re-installed it several times. I even let the phone sit overnight and it never connected the accounts, it has on those contacts that have a twitter or google+ account. My previous Droid 2 connected to the facebook profile. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue. I took my phone to the Verizon store here because the phone was freezing when ever I tried to text. They did a hard reset and set it back to the factory settings and since then I can't get the facebook contacts to sync no matter what I do. Have you gotten yours fixed?

Hello all. Thank you for posting to the forums.

I am here to assist with your Facebook contacts. Please follow the steps below on how to sync your FB contacts:

- Delete the application by going to Menu > Settings > Manage Applications > Facebook > Delete/Remove.

- Go to Market and download application again.

- Once Facebook is downloaded > Settings > Accounts & Sync > Add the account from there > Sync must be selected

I am also having the same problem, the contact pictures werent updating with facebook so i deleted the facebook app and tried syncing again and now no facebook contacts will load at all. I followed your instructions and deleted the facebook app, redownloaded it and added facebook back in my accounts. However, I have the droid 2 and there is no option to sync. In the settings there is only an accounts tab and not one that says accounts and sync. Any suggestions?

Seems you have tried multiple troubleshooting steps to resolve the Facebook Contact issue. I would like for you to check one more setting for me. Making sure you have re-added Facebook as a syncing account, check to see what "Display groups" are selected to be displayed in your contact list.

Please let me know your findings.

The way I fixed my problem was I went to my facebook on my computer instead of through my phone, went to account settings, general account settings, linked accounts, and linked my gmail and facebook together. It syncs your contacts together and gmail will sync your facebook contacts to your phone's contacts without going through all the trouble of adding facebook to your phone.

Note: If the names aren't the exact same in your contact lists, you may have to "join" contacts together in your phone's contact list. However, if they are, they will join automatically. I hope this helps.
