You need to add the hotspot plan through your My Verizon account. How much it will cost depends on your current data plan. Once it is added, then you can go the settings on your phone to turn on the hotspot.

As Ann154 stated, you would need to provision the mobile hotspot feature on your account.
Once it has been provisioned, you can follow these steps below to begin using it.

You can either add the feature via the device by selecting the Hotspot icon, My Verizon or by calling in to customer service.
