Premium Messaging & Data charges

I have an LG phone and keep it in my pocket sometimes. I am haveing trouble with it "unlocking" itself and signing on to the internet or whereever and getting charged for Data usage.

I had talked to a rep about this and they said they could block this for me since i so not use the internet from my phone.

Now I cannot get my usual Monday text message from Red Box sending me a code for a FREE movie.

It tells me that Premium Messaging has been blocked.

If I unblock the SMS .... I guess that is the premium messaging ..... then I will have to contend with accidentally signing on and using Data ..... ?

Is there any way to be able to recieve my text messages from Red Box but still be able to block my phone from accidentally using Data????

Just change the setting on your phone. Change the short cut keys so that they don't access the internet, so that they access something else instead.

Its not problem.

I would try to help you with that, but i don't know what phone you have, and i currently have a PDA so it would be hard to help you. Sorry.

Premium text messaging does not use any MB's so you won't be charged for them. In blocking the web on your phone the rep probably just applied all the blocks available, which would include Premium SMS. Just call and ask for that, and only the Prem SMS block to be removed.
