Need a solution/explaination as to why my Charge screen fades out using voicemail

Very annoying when the screen dissappears while attempting to input a key stroke.  No,  I am not covering any sensorpoints, either!  Any ideas out there?  I have already exchanged my phone for a new one due to the crackling static noise that occurs during an extended phone call.   Should have got the I- phone????

Does it only do it while on a call with Voicemail? Try calling your home number and taking the phone away from your ear to see if it does the same thing. Perhaps it's a screen cover interfering with the proximity sensor.
