does anyone know a way to set personal ringtones for contacts? or is there an app to do so? i saw ringdroid but it only allows you to cut some of the song.

Go to the contact you want a custom ringtone for. menu -> Options -> Ringtone. There you can select the ringtone you want.
sorry i guess i should have specified using mp3's for ringtones for the contacts not the normal ones. but thank you for showing me that way to set those!
go to music, select your song, click menu & you'll see an option to set as ringtone. the song is then added to your ringtone library & you can follow the directions above to personalize by contact.
