ICS Update stinks

Updated my wife's phone with the ics update and now text doesn't work, email doesn't sync, contacts do not sync, battery runs hot, stays charged for an 1 or 2, phone runs slow, which are just some of the issues! I wish there was a way to go back to the gingerbread!! Called customer service and they want to offer me a refurbished phone to replace the one that is a month old...nice...I feel like I am back with Sprint. Let alone she has next to no cell sevice. And verizon says there are no known issues....whatever....thanks for the update that screwed up a new phone!!! Guess I will try ATT now!!

Couple things to try before jumping ship: First, try clearing the cache, if that gives no joy, try a factory reset(I know I know, a little painful) If neither of those work...you're in the same boat with the rest of us having issues - waiting on a mythical patch.

Thanks but I have done all of that. Mythical patch from a magic fairy!! For those that have not done the update DO NOT DO IT!! Customer service rep was rude and of no help. Thanks for a paper weight Verizon.

Is that Verizons practice to send you a refurbished phone in replace of one that is a month old? If so, I am no impressed! My phone now has been on the wall charger for 3 hours and it will not go above 30% wow!!!

yup. if it's after the return period (14 days on Verizon), you're getting a refurb. Same with other carriers.

Ice Cream Sandwich is a wonderful OS update for the Razr and the Razr Maxx that I’m sure that you and your wife will love and enjoy! I understand that you are off to a rocky start with the new update but have no fear as I am available to assist with all of your wireless service and software questions and concerns!

May I ask are you able to use the text messaging service on your phone? If not then please advise of any error messages that you are getting. Also, how's the email working now? If you are still having these issue then please advise I would love to help and share some tips with you.

After the ICS update, I gad to reset my email settings, wifi settings, and my car does not see my phone contact list. So far I have spent about 10 hours fixing the first two problems and have yet to fix the third problem.

I see no benefit to the ICS update (which went through automatically on my RAZR)...how do I go back to the previous OS?

You can't go back to the previous version of the OS.

I feel the same as most. The update modified my music files. Now Mary J. Blige is the image for Kirt Franklin. The voice command no longer works for the text messaging.. and thats just a few items that I've found. I think these upgrades should be tested with consumers and not in some lab with standard, factory use.

And if Verizon is supporting this then your blind to the consumer needs and I too will look to replace you with someone who cares about my service.

@ Stlrcity Have you tried clearing the cache on the phone? There are several threads on the forums with how to do this, if you cannot find one let me know and I'll (gulp)repost here.

That's why they Soak Testers it Goes out to a Few thousand Users and i'd say some Employees and if the Ok is given to release they release it. But there will be bugs no matter how good they try to get it. Gingerbread had it's flaws and So Does Microsoft.. So all i can tell is Hang in there and there will be a Maintenance update to Address this one..

I think it is time for all of us to start complaining to the consumer bureau. We are paying for a service we are not getting. No company should be allowed to get away with that. I have had email problems for over a month. I will fix it, it works for a while and then stops.

I got ICS on both of my Maxx's and so far No issues) you might Try a System Cache Clear or a Factory Reset i did and it maid my Maxx that i updated last month work a Little Better. I done just the Factory Reset not the Internal Storage or the SD card but as i Indicated it helped my Maxx) Good Luck b
