Facebook syncing with new contacts

I just got the droid yesterday. I added a contact and it automatically checked against facebook and updated the rest of the info, including the image. I accidentally deleted it but when I went to re-add it, it no longer automatically synced with the facebook info. I can't figure out why

 

Facebook sync is turned on, as is auto-sync and background data.

I have a similar problem. I decided not to sync facebook contacts initially when it asked but now when i try to sync with facebook under accounts and & sync settings in the contacts section nothing happens. If anyboudy has knowledge on how to get around this i'd greatly appreciate it.
