I see several people asking about this and have a suggestion. I too have deleted some texts that had some info I needed from some people I was doing business with. After an email to customer support, I was rather shocked to learn that I needed a subpeona to access my own account information. I expected to be told there would be a small fee associated with the request, but not a court order. I suspect this is done as a manpower issue rather than a legal issue (What legal reasoning is behind not allowing me access to my information). Customer support would probably be flooded with requests for data restores and they could probably staff an entire department with people doing nothing but this 24x7.
Why not link the data to the details already provided on the MyVerizon website? They say they keep the data for 5 days and that would be sufficient. I usually realize I needed that message about 2 seconds after the 'message deleted' confirmation shows up on my phone. No additional storage space would be required as these messages are already being retained. Not sure where to post this, the only suggestion forum I've found is regarding the forum not the services...
