When is best time to charge?

My Blackberry you were suppose to drain battery, then Palm keep it charged.  I haven't seen anything about this for the Droid Razr, which I have only had a few days.  Any helpwould be appreciated.

i run my droid x down to the red lite, which is less than 15%, turn it off & charge for 3 hours.

too late now but motorola recommends charging the new phone 3-5 hours, to come up from the 40% charge they come out of the factory with, before using.

fwiw:

i've always charged my phones when they're off, with a wall charger. usb charging is worthless.
