DROID Bionic

No forum for the Bionic for some reason but I had a questions I was hoping to get help with. Tried connecting my Bionic to my moms Laptop the other day to download some pictures and always thought it was as easy as attaching a USB cable and that was pretty much it, the Bionic was marketed as being really easy to load files to your PC. Well when I attached the cable nothing happened...the Phone thought it was charging..and the PC never recognized the device. Is there a setting I need to change or something? I have gone thru the system settings multiple times and can find nothing about it, the manual just says attach a USB cable and attach it to a PC..but it would not notice the cable as a USB connection. Any ideas?

Mayshar, when you connect via USB, you should see a USB icon in the upper left corner of the Bionic's screen (the Notifications bar). Pull down on that Notifications bar and tap the item that says "USB connection - select to manage your USB connection." This will give you four choices - PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, USB Mass Storage and Charge Only. Default is Charge Only. What you want is "USB Mass Storage." Once you've transferred your photos to your Bionic, don't forget to back out the way you came in. Put your Bionic back into Charge Only mode and then disconnect the device from the PC by clicking the USB connection icon in the PC's system tray.

Mayshar is correct but you MUST also only use the USB cable that came with your Bionic (Unplug the cable from the charger). I tried to upload music from my PC to my Bionic and nothing happened till I used the cable that came with the Bionic. When I used any other cable I got no notification (USB icon) and nothing happened. I have no idea why my cable worked and others didn't but there it was.
