LG Revere and 200-020-002001 unwanted texts?

Receiving several unwanted text messages from 200-020-002001 every day on my LG Revere and cannot find a way to block them. Verizon spam blocking requires a 10-digit phone number or email address to block unwanted messages and as you can see, this is a 12-digit number. Is there anyone else having this problem and, if so, how do you get rid of it?

Hi Community!

This brings me back to my old tech support days. I've seen these messages many times before. Basically, it's an alert from a subscription that can't be read by your phone. For example, let's say you have Mobile Email on a phone. The network pushes down code to the phone that's read by the Mobile Email program (this is how you get your email). If you change phones while that subscription is still active (on the network end), and the application isn't available or utilized on the new phone, the message comes through as weird code because there's no application to read the code.

All we need to do is ensure all subscriptions are canceled on the network end. A quick call to customer service will accomplish this (800-922-0204 or *611). These subscriptions may not show on the bill as a charge (for example, Mobile email is usually free with a data package). This will ensure that the messages stop coming in. It doesn't have to be Mobile email, it can be any BREW (basic phone application catalog now known as Media Center) application that wasn't canceled prior to changing phones.

For text spam, you can forward the spam message to SPAM (7726). You'll get a reply asking for the message originator. Reply with the originator's address, and our spam prevention team investigates the originator of the message.

To stop Premium Text Messages reply to the message with one of the five keywords listed below in the body of the message from your phone:

QUIT
STOP
END
CANCEL
UNSUBSCRIBE

If you are unable to opt-out using the keyword, make sure the auto signature is turned off when sending the text message. If auto signature is turned on, you will need to remove the signature from the message body and resend the text message.

A confirmation of the cancellation will be sent as a text message to the handset. If confirmation is not received and the auto signature feature was OFF, you will need to complete additional troubleshooting.

If it's premium messaging check your bill becuase you will see an extra $9.95 a month on there. Usually that happens if you are on a site to play games and don't see the fine print that you agree to sign up for this and be charged. Happens to a lot of people. Mary

Thanks for the input, but I don't play online games of any kind.

Update: I blocked all SMS messages via the Verizon Safeguards route and

still received one of these texts. i then replied with STOP as a text

message and got another one almost immediately after that. It is

frustrating and somewhat unnerving. There is no intelligible message that

comes with these text messages, just the 12-digit sender, 200-020-002001

(see the 2000 2000 2001 layout?), and the following:

//BREW:0x109e17e:0//SVeeh4jy2po0rCug0pjfdws/1bV9Qea8d7qArMMzo6A=11VS.

But, this part of the text changes each time with the most recent being

//BREW:0x109e17e:0//SVYUhvy4RSAGmOLt+VxaNftve5LLvobl88E2vQWKlgNyY=//VS.

Anyone seen unwanted texts like these?

Please help. I may have to cancel my Verizon account and go with another

carrier if this doesn't stop.

Thank you very much to all who offered their views and suggestions to eliminate this frustrating situation. After trying the fixes suggested, it seems the unwanted texts have stopped. (knocking on nearest wood) It's been nearly two days without 200-020-012000 showing up in my message window. The summary by MikeS was particularly enlightening and should be on relevant FAQ's (which I scoured prior to approaching this forum with this problem).

I wish I new, veebabe. I got rid of them for awhile, then in a burst of confidence I added Mobile Web to my features and lo and behold the 200-020-002001 invader/infiltrator was back. Now I've blocked every conceivable feature that can be blocked and I'm still getting the messages. The most upsetting aspect of this is that the messages are being counted against my allowed minutes pushing me almost to the maximum with 19 days left on my billing cycle.

It's getting close to the point where I'm going to have to terminate my phone service.
