Text ringtone Issue?

I currently have the Droid RAZR and I'm having a problem with my notification sounds when I get texts. I recently added a new ringtone to use for my text messages and successfully changed it. However when I receive a text, it plays my ringtone of choice, but it is quickly interrupted by the annoying "DROID" sound. I've tried changing EVERY sound from notifications to my ringtone of choice but it still does it. Changed my texting and notification ringtone to this and still every single time I get "DROID" interrupting it.

I'm using the normal texting app that comes with the phone, nothing special

You Have to Go into Text from the Home screen then Tap --> your Messaging Settings --> Scroll Up to Select Ringtone --> Go into Ringtones Select Android System Or Another Like Zedge Find your Ringtone an Select Once your Selection is maid then Hit the Home Screen..b33

I have done that several times and then turned the phone on and off and it still does the Droid thing....so that does not work

Try a Soft Reset Hold Down the Power Button and Volume Down Button at the Same time till the Device shuts off let Go of the buttons after it Shuts off then let it Re-power.. i Went an Set a New Ringtone in the Text Message Settings Area an when i sent a Text from my Droid X it went threw an the Ringtone worked as it Should..b33

Hi BaggyMo, I'm sorry your having so many issues with your notifications and ringtones. I see you have tried almost everything we would have advised to do on your device. I would also try checking your app notifications. It could also be your email notifications. I will list steps below to manage both notifications on your device.

App Notifications settings:

1 )From a Home screen, select the App menu (located in the lower right).

2) Select Play Store (Formerly Market).

If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps.

3) Refer to Application Update Notifications - Google Play.

Gmail Notification settings:

1) From a Home screen, select the App menu (located in the lower right).

2) Select Gmail.

If the application icon is missing, select App menu filter (located at the top) then select All apps.

3) Select Menu.

4) Select More.

5) Select Settings.

6) Select the appropriate Google account.

7) Select Email Notifications to enable / disable.

Enabled when a green indicator is present.

8) Select Labels to notify.

9) Select one of the following:

--Inbox

--Priority Inbox

10) Select Email notifications to enable / disable.

11) Select Ringtone.

12) Select a ringtone then select OK.

If applicable, select Vibrate.

13) Select one of the following.

--Always

--Silent only

--Never

14) Select Notify once to enable / disable.

Enabled when a green indicator is present.

15) Select OK.

I hope the steps above will resolve your issues. If you continue to have issues, we may need to perform a hard reset on the phone to put the device back to the original factory settings. Please keep us posted.

This is what i'm thinking as Well a F.R. But she could have an App that is Causing these issues BaggyMo Give one other thing a Try go into you Setting--> Sounds--> An Scroll down to SD Notifications an Un-Check it. On my Maxx i don't have any of the Feedback Tones Selected Except The Audible touch tones..
