how can I install my pantech um290 on a new toshiba laptop?

Bought a new toshiba laptop today, installed vz access for the pantech 290 and cannot connect to the internet. I contacted tech support, and they attempted to help me, but there really was no help. I am running windows 7 on the newbie. I installed, detected the device, and kept getting error message wmc100. Tech support advised me to uninstall it, shut it down, open it back up, install it, shut it down, open it back up and attempt to log on. Still got the same error message.

<sigh> if only I could afford a new mac laptop. It really is my preference........

When you check the hardware manager does all the drivers for the card load correctly? Sounds like you may have a rouge driver, check that please and reply back with findings.

How old is the VZ Access Manager disk you have? You might need to download the new VZAccess Manager from http://vzam.net

I used the disc that came with device. I dont know what a rogue driver is

or how to look for it. I really appreciate that you are trying to help.

The device is the pantech uml 290. Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks

The first thing I would do is take evsotech suggestion to install the updated version of the software because the cd has a habit of having out dated software on the cd, go to http://vzam.net/ and download the most recent version of the software..

Now as for having driver issues, basically to make sure you have all your drivers installed correctly go to your desktop and right click on the

1."Computer" icon and select

2."Properties" and then select

3. Device Manager located on the left boarder....

4. Once the screen comes up that shows a list with all the hardware on your PC (Check for any yellow triangle or red exclamation point) because this will indicate a missing driver..

After checking this please report back...

After spending an hour at a wifi location, i was unable to find the

update. I got really frustrated and took the laptop and broadband modem to

the big Verizon store here i have here in murfreesboro and the took care of

it for me. I realize verizon is in the business how to make money. However

their website could be easier to use. Thanks for all your help. You were
