When .905 update pushes, can I reject until ICS arrives ?

As often as not the minor updates pushed to my Bionic have disrupted setting and connectivity on my phone and I would just as soon wait until the major upgrade to ICS comes (assuming goomo and vz keep their word) I was told by a store rep that I could reject it, but in another thread, someone said that after 3 times stopping it they will just shove ot down my throat. Which is true ?

Hi rrutl,

Depending on the update severity you will have the option to reject the update.

In a low severity update, which is a firmware update needed to enhance an application, you will be able to reject the update.

In high or critical severity updates you will have the option to postpone the update but once the time has expired it will run the update automatically. Below I have provided a brief explanation of critical and high severity updates.

Critical - Any reason that would trigger a device recall. Examples may include instances where devices are harming the network in such a way as to prevent others from making calls.

High - Fixing bugs related to the core device functionality like SMS (Short Messaging Service), MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service, WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).

I don't even know if the DROID Bionic is planned to get the ICS (Android 4.0) update.

, The Bionic will get Ice Cream Sandwich in Quarter 3 of this year according the the Motorola site, and to @rrutl, I would get this update, from what I hear and I may be wrong, it improves your Data signal, 4G/3G handoff, battery life, and is possibly a precursor to ICS, which means if it is a precursor, and you reject it, you won't get ICS. The other phones with ICS now, had a small update to prep the phone for ICS, this maybe one of those.
