I've had a Blackberry Tour for 3 years now. The first 2 years I had it I never ever had a problem. I let my contract expire and have not upgraded. About 2 months after the contract expired I started having all kinds of problems. The phone locks up all the time when I'm texting, it shuts off and reboots in the middle of a phone conversation and some times it acts like there is something running in background that causes it to heat up and drain the battery. I've replaced the battery and have seen no improvements.
It just makes me wonder if during an update that Verizon isn't introducing a bug into my phone to irritate me to the point that I want to replace my phone. It's the same thing Garmin does to GPS owners. Once you turn it on and start getting the message that your maps are outdated it starts routing you in different ways to scare you into paying for a map upgrade.
Just wondering if any else suspects that this kind of activity is going on.
