That is the way it operates and it is also stated that way in the manual.
This is a known issue and will be fix in one of next two updates. First one is slated for December 11th and the next one is sometime in January according to a leaked verizon document the made it's way on the net yesterday.
You got a manual???? LOL
All i got was a getting started booklet. Did you get a CD as well?
