People are not receiving all my texts and viceversa

I just changed this week to the Galaxy Nexus from a 3G phone. Before I had no problems with sending text messages and pictures through stock messages but with the new phone, several of my messages are not being received in the other side. It appears that it has been sent but they just do not arrive. Same with some messages and pictures they send me, some just do not reach my phone. I changed from stck sms (android default) to 3rd party (Handcent or something) still, i do not receive some messages... anyway, same problem. Is this a 4G problem? a Samsung problem? or a Google problem? Is being resolved?

Is worth to mention that the person I send most sms is on a Metro PCS blackberry, but still I had no problems with my android LG Ally before. Just after I changed to the Nexus. What is the problem here? how do I resolve it?

Stito85, thank you for your post. I certainly want to make sure we get your text messages working. I have not seen this issue as a known issue on the Nexus. Is this happening with different people? Are you using any special characters, graphics, signatures, etc in the messages that do not send? Try deleting your SMS thread with the number it is happening with mostly and try sending text messages again. If the issue is still occurring, we may need to submit a trouble ticket to our network team. In that case, we'll need the dates and times that the messages were sent and from which number so we can further investigate.

i am also having the same issue with the nexus. at times when i dont receive any texts i reboot my phone and then i receive my texts

I have had this problem. I can't download pics sent me via text message or upload them. I downloaded handcent which solved the problem. I would rather use stock, but can't until the software update hits.

I am having the same issue as the original poster. My SMS messages show as sent but are not received by the other person and vice versa when I am sent a message by someone else. I've seen it happen with Verizon to Verizon texting as well.

Please let me know if a fix is found for this issue.

I wonder if this is just part of the poor signal strength/dropped call issue? I am beginning to think that this phone has a hardware issue with either the antenna or the "radio".

My sister and I are having the same issue with our Droid Razr phones. There are two numbers on AT&T that I have issues with consistently, and my sister is having issues with another Verizon customer. This was never an issue before, but as soon as we upgraded from 3G to LTE phones this has been an ongoing and incredibly frustrating issue.

I got Verizon Tech Support to file a network ticket to have the problem looked into more, and was told that the issue is with AT&T, not Verizon. I argued that this makes no sense since my sister is having the same issue with another Verizon customer but there was no note of this on the ticket so it was never looked into. Adding to the frustration, I was told that the issue is "resolved".

Likewise... I am also seeing a similar problem.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and I am not receiving texts from my wife's iPhone 4S. There are over 500 messages in the thread but I increased the thread limit to 1000 and still do not receive messages. There's nothing unusual about these messages, just a mix of mostly text with a few pictures now and again.

Rebooting my 'phone usually works.

I am having the same problem. I can get on wi-fi but no phone calls or text messages sent. SunSpots! Solar Flares! I get a verizon computer that wants me to make a collect call. Help!!!

I have the same issue... Verizon is sending me my fourth Samsung Galaxy Nexus... I am switching to AT&T and getting another iPhone.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and I find that I am not receiving mms messages, My friends and family that have have iphones text large messages in mms format. I am using the Go apps for my messaging, contacts and phone. It tells me to activate the mms messaging on my root messaging system, the problem is that my basic messenger is no longer on my phone. Is there a solution that i can either download an app, or back up the phone and reset it back to factory defaults. i am at a loss right now.

The stock Text Message app "Messaging" can't be removed from the device without modifying the operating system.

You might have disabled it. If so, it will be listed at the bottom of the "All" application list under Settings > Apps > All Tab. Select it and touch the "Enable" button.

I have been having the same issue for two months or so, and it is to other people on the Verizon network as well as people off and it has been both in sending and receiving.

I use the stock messaging app...

I can't seem to send pictures through text occasionally unless I turn off and on again. Wifi or 4G. :-/

I have had the same problem since I got this phone. Sporadically, when I attempt to send a text, pic or video it just continues to say "sending". I finally called and made a ticket. I was told to turn the phone on and off once a day for the text issue. This did not resolve the issue. I also cant send certain pics or any type of video. I was told the problem was because the phone was unable send pics or video that exceed 1.3mb. I am no phone or gadget guru but that 1.3mb is ridiculously small. I tried to send a 3 second video and couldn't becuase "it exceeded the size limit". I was told this phone would do everything an expensive phone would do and now I know different. It was free for a reason! Next time, I'm doing my homework! This phone is CRAP!

The CDMA 1xRTT network used to send the messages has size restrictions. It always had. For videos, you need to set the resolution to the MMS format before recording the video for it to be small enough to send. The phone should be able to resize the pictures for sending via MMS. I know my Nexus does.

If you don't want to reduce the file size of the videos and pictures, I would suggest sending via email or another method.
