HTC Rezound not connecting to PC

I connected my Rez to my PC for the first time to download pictures into the PC and installation was going well until I got a message to turn on Internet Connection Mode on the phone... I turn on the mode and I get a message on the phone to call Verizon to get a Mobile hotspot account! I don't want one!Now the installation is stuck on the window pane asking me to turn on the internet connection mode... it wont go away until I can get connected.

How can I correct this and finish the connectivity between my phone and the PC? Thanks.

How did you connect the two? Did you use the USB cord or use some other method?

I have the hot spot, but I do know that when I have Airdroid open and tap on the menu button, it says "Tethering & Hotspot Mode", even if I'm using Charge only mode, so I guess it's needed if you're connecting with WiFi.

For connecting my phone to my PC, I normally use a USB connection and when I connect, I just change my phone to Disk drive mode and it sees my phone as two SD drives, the phone memory and the ext/SD card. The only time I use Airdroid, or my other WiFi file explorer is when I don't have a USB cable available, which isn't very often.

I am having the same problem dw and am getting frustrated, not only is it not connecting to the PC it keeps crapping out when I try to get the wireless network to work. NOW what?

After re-reading this post, I remember my first time plugging in my Rezound caused the same issue. If I remember correctly, you can unplug your phone, then go to menu>settings>connect to PC>default connection type. From hear you can change it to disk drive and, optionally, set it to ask you each time.

Okay, a couple of questions. 1. Have you installed HTC Sync? I never use it, but it does have some drivers that you may need to connect to your PC. I usually install it, then uninstall it once the drivers are loaded.

After that, all I need to do is connect my phone to the PC using the USB charging cable. After that, a window should open up on your phone, asking if you want to set the phone connection type to Charge only, HTC Sync, Disk drive, Internet Connection Mode, or Internet pass through. Pick Disk drive. and then done. As demmo86rt said, there is also a box you can check if you want it to remember your choice, but that's up to you, I like to make my own choices.

A window should open on your computer, asking if you want to open the folder to view the files, etc. Just click yes. When it is open, there will be two drives you need to look for, not one and they may not be in sequence. On my computer this time, the first is J: and the other is M: HTC Storage.

2. When you say you're having trouble getting your wireless network, to work, are you referring to the 3G/4G LTE connection, or your WiFi connection, or both? Can you describe the problem a little better and what you're doing to get connected?
