Please Verizon, bring it to us!
If you at the latest benchmark leak there are two different versions of the note 2. Question is why? Assuming from past Note that this one is a CDMA version and if it has LTE then it may be for Verizon or Sprint.
Rumors are that it will go to all carriers like the SGSIII, but that is unconfirmed for now.
Since the lawsuit was lost by Samsung to Apple it may not appear for anyone here in the USA. We may see higher price come on all new devices as well.

It doesn't NOT affect newer devices... The verdict was based on devices S2 and below. Samsung switched their TW UI to a different type of UI (Nature UX I believe).
I hope it does, but knowing the history of how Verizon releases their phones, I feel doubtful. It's a shame, I remember having to wait for an EVO competitor, ended up with a Thunderbolt...awesome...not...lol. A long time Verizon customer, I re-signed with Verizon when I got a RAZR MAXX even after seeing the original Galaxy Note and knowing that I really liked it. If Verizon doesn't pick up the Note 2, I think I'll regret that decision. I've always liked Verizon's service and signal reliability, but all the cool phones go to the other carriers first which I've grown tired of.
I feel the same. Love the Verizon service but seams we are always left out till last on cool phones. Waited for iPhone forever finally gave up got a Samsung, now that's all I'll have. I could not believe they did iit to us again by not giving us the samsung note. Nothing out there compares. Our contracts almost up. I hope they offer Samsung note 2. Give us 1st rate phones Please!!!!!
Hope the rumors are correct, totally unfair if it's not offered to all carriers. Should be able to get any phone you want without having to change providers.
The only way to change that is to buy devices outright. Subsidizations leads ways to exclusive deals between carriers and manufacturers. Without that subsidizations it would be harder to go exclusive and force manufacturers to come out with better products.
Doesn't look like it now. The support doesn't say CDMA. So unless Samsung didn't mention they have a CDMA version in the works then it's a no go.
Can I buy a Samsung Note and just put my sim card from my verizon phone in it?
You could, but it wouldn't help much.
Since voice goes over CDMA and the Galaxy Note 2 so far doesn't indicate that it has a CDMA radio in it, you won't have access to voice and text messages. Because VZW uses different LTE frequencies from AT&T, if you bought an AT&T SG Note II, the data wouldn't work on VZW. If you bought an international SG Note II, you would probably have the same result.
In other words, don't waste your money.
This is my next phone. C'mon, Verizon, aren't you tired of losing customers to carriers that offer all the great phones?
So far they have only shown the international version which, of course, doesn't use CDMA. So hopefully when the US version gets some publicity it will have Verizon's logo plastered on it. I really don't want to switch carriers, but I will for this!
Sorry to say don't get your hopes up. Have to remember Korea also has CDMA. Any phone you find that's CDMA from Samsung you will find in Korea.
Website claims sources say its coming to Verizon.
http://www.popherald.com/news_20120829_samsung_galaxy_note_2_announcement_ifa-19666
The only source that makes that claim. Show a few more. This site also claimed it would have a 13mp camera and didn't move from it when other sites said what it has now.
If you see a CDMA/LTE version in Korea then there's a chance it will come here. If one isn't sold there then it is more than likely not happening.
Waited around for Verizon to bring the Note; if Verizon doesn't announce the Note 2, I'm gone to AT&T when they bring it.
I am so looking forward for this phone from Samsung. Lets hope if happens.
The galaxy note 2 was revealed and all I can say is I want it very bad! Now Verizon say there are coming out with a phablet that will compete with the note called the LG Intuition lets look at each one……
Galaxy Note 2 LG Intuition
Processor 1.6GHz quad-core 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4
Display 5.5-inches 5-inch

Looks Like a phone Like a brick
As you can see there is no competing. The Note 2 blows away the Intuition away in every category so PLEASE Verizon do the right thing and carry this phone!
Like I said earlier. Watch the Korean carriers. If you see a CDMA/LTE version pop up there then there is a chance Verizon may carry it. If not then Sprint nor Verizon will have it.
I'd have to agree with most of you. Ive been a long time Verizon customer. Been to other carriers and verizon surely excells in service and reliability. But falls extremely short on the latest and greatist of devices. Ive been eagerly anticipating the Samsung Galaxy note 2 release. If verizon dosnt offer the device my family will be switching to the carrier who does. This is a fantastic machine. The note was a great piece of work, and had it not had been for contract id had left last year. The S III is a good device as well but i am looking for a tablet not a pocket sized tiny screen phone with features. Im tired of carrying a tablet, a phone and a laptop, Samsung has made there device as if they pulled it from my dreams, so come on verizon polish your knees and get this launched next month.
The thing that kills me is not knowing either way. I mean at least post on her and tell us its not coming this Fall so that we can look at other options. Where's the great customer service in not telling us at least a big fat 'NO'? So if someone from Verizon could please tell us either way, that would be much appreciated.

Just look at Koreas carrier websites. The one with CDMA/LTE isn't carrying it so far, which gives signs that it won't be on a CDMA carrier. To date all Samsung phones have ALWAYS been sold in Korea. I don't see my a CDMA/LTE Note 2 would be different do you?
If that's the case, the Note was sold in Korea and had CDMA/LTE and Verizon passed on it, correct? Just asking, as I do not know. But if that is true then even a Korean Note 2, might not mean a Verizon Note 2. I want this phone in the worse kind of way...come on Verizon!
No there was NEVER a CDMA Note either. Note 1 specs right here. WCDMA is NOT the CDMA Verizon uses. WCDMA is what AT&T and T-Mobile uses for data on their 3G network(This is how their 3G network allows voice and data).

The 3 versions they have. Now I believe LG+ uses CDMA as well as GSM, but you have to choose which you want and Samsung would make both versions for that Carrier. Which has not happened for the Note 1 or Note 2. They just been making the GSM/LTE. Probably more than likely LG+ is planning on dropping CDMA when they go VoLTE so there is no point and I believe they are planning to be the first carrier to fully deploy VoLTE is korea.
Also here's their US page specs
They make no mention of a CDMA model again

If Verizon bring in the superior product like Note 2, it would be(somewhat) disastorous for other carriers. Kinda like when iPhone finally decided to go with Verizon, people waited 5+ months for it to finally release. Some said that was going to be the downfall of ATT. Now all carriers knows this. So when carriers like Verizon pass on a superior product, they simply is trying to balance out with other carriers so no carriers would suffer out. Kinda like a planned poker. But this is only my guess, I probably am wrong.Hopefully I am wrong.
on top of that, Verizon has better business relationship with HTC & Motorola more than they do with Samsung.
Someone over at XDA has uncovered a Sprint Galaxy Note 2, maybe. If Sprint is getting it, surely Verizon will.

I'm sad to say if verizon does not announce the note 2 before att releases, I will be switching carriers.
Verizon - I'm not thrilled with what is going on. I switched from Sprint to Verizon since for my needs there was actually no difference and a number of my friends are on Verizon. You've completely boned your customers on the nexus - never fixing the signal issues and dragging your feet on every android update.
Now I desperately want the Note 2 as it would be much better for people who have difficulty reading their phones without putting on their glasses. Do you hate your customers for some reason?
I would gladly switch back to Sprint if they get the Note 2 and you don't.

this is why carriers don't care what devices they get. customer churn is high these days. if you're willing to jump ship for a device, then you're not their target customer. they focus on customers who want the best network. i don't think they care if you head to sprint for a device, because you'll likely head somewhere else for the next device.
Good point. Makes you wonder why phone carriers ever bother to get new phones at all, what with their target customer being people who want the best network. Kinda makes their decision to get a Note 2 competitor all the more curious - why bother?
You're right to an extent of course - Verizon's coverage is a huge selling point. And many of the phones are easily interchangeable. Except the Note 2 isn't really interchangeable. Currently in a class by itself (unsurprising because it made the "5.5 inch class"). 5.5" screen, and OLED to boot, kinda exciting what with OLED TVs being all the talk of the display industry. Newest OS. That's a phone worth changing carriers for, and with 10M+ going for the Note 1 (despite generally critical pre-release reviews about its size), Note 2 should have a very nice following.
I'm sooooo glad Tmobile just announced their truly unlimited data plan. If VW doesn't carry this, I'm gone! Tmo will very likely carry this one, just as the first one. Why are you trying to shove such ugly phones down our throats? So what if you've got a good network (I don't even get reception in my home)? No offense to anyone, I've always felt that the Moto phones look like pagers with giant screens.
Every single phone I've liked it's been somewhere else. The Atrix, Note, GS2, HTC One X (yeah, yeah..), (not to mention all the toying around you did to your customers waiting for the Nexus about the release time. People signed up to your 'newsletter' to get first notice of it, for what? To end up learning through Facebook anyways?) and now no Note again?! And to add insult to injury, and LG to compete with this phone?! Is this a joke?! As I implied at the beginning, not even the grandfathered unlimited data plan I've got now will be enough to stop me.
Keep telling yourself that. VZW focuses on what all businesses focus on; profitability and their overall bottom line.
I like VZW because of the quality service, but AT&T's service is just as good in my area. Given that, at the end of the day, I'm going to be paying someone for wireless services one way or another - I don't really care who that money goes to. All things being equal (and, relatively speaking, they are), if I'm paying my hard earned dollars anyway, those dollars may as well go the provider that has the actual device I want.
You can tell yourself that but the Verizon wouldn't have caved on the iphone if they didn't worry about churn. They could offer a single startac if they thought no one would jump ship. It is fine for them to sell second rate crap phones like the VU but execs want better phones and you can be sure most companies get whatever their execs want for phones and base their plans for the rest of the company on what the execs want.
I have been following all the web news related to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2,, and I 'm hoping Verizon realizes how much it's customers want this phone/tablet (Phablet)..... It seems like At&t gets the head start on these new and exciting phones while we have to sit and hope that our carrier will offer it !!!! Some of us who love the new tech gadgets are willing to jump ship, and break contracts just to get our hands on them..... Verizon give us the news we are ALL waiting for !!!!! :smileyhappy:
In Verizon's defense, however slight, they did carry the Nexus & GS3, and, even though you may not like them, the RAZR MAXX HD is a pretty awesome phone...but from there it goes down hill. I just do not understand Verizon's selection process of what they will and will not carry. To say that the VU is any sort of competition for the Note 2 is ludicrous, it doesn't even come close; so why would they choose that over the Note 2? Will Samsung not make then a version that will work on their network? I don't see that as a factor because they would sell more of them on Verizon than any other US network...so can someone in the know, please tell us Verizon's reason?
Maybe the new 5" HTC will actually be some competition, but don't throw us the VU with ICS on it, less size, specs, and function, and call it an alternative, when it clearly is not.

how did they "cave"??? they passed on the first one (they had the opportunity and passed). they then waited until at&t's exclusivity ran, and they offered it. look, nobody has to agree with what i stated, but if they did care about the latest and greatest and actually thought they were losing customers because "i want the HTC One and i'll leave if they don't get it," then why DON'T they get so many of these devices? my answer? same as before.....they aren't concerned with customers that will hop from carrier to carrier based on device. you will leave, and you will be back, and then leave, and then be back. they can't concern themselves with that customer base because they simply can't carry EVERY device. they are focused on gaining and retaining long term customers. those are customers that are more concerned with the network than the device they are using.
Another user hoping (in vain?) for the Note 2 on Verizon. Don't want to have to switch carriers...
Sorry anyone could fake a build.prop, and a spec sheet to make it anyway they want.
I will believe it when it is announced by Sprint and they are taking preorders.
Also I trust Samsung's website more than I do AC, and Currently Samsung does not list CDMA(Rev.A/0) on their spec sheet. If they were planning releasing a CDMA version they would have put it there you would think?
This could be any number of reasons. Maybe LG gave Verizon a good price and VW makes some extra money over selling the Note2 maybe samsung can only make so many Note2s
This is like the waiting game for the Iphone. Dejavu. Never thought i would feel like that again.
What? Utter disappointment when it showed up exactly like the last one?
Seems to be a lot of speculation Sprint is going to get this beautiful phone and Verizon is just giving the middle finger to their customers
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/09/07/samsung-galaxy-note-2-coming-to-sprint/
Why the hell would I buy the Vu clone? Isnt the galaxyS3 a 4.7 inch screen.
Why would I fork out money for a 5 inch screen and still have only dual processor?
I guess the only thing I would get is a scratchpad and 5 buttons per row.
I'd go for the note2. I dont know about the LG. I guess if I had a hard on for LG stuff.
I can't believe it is coming out with only ICS - both LG and Verizon have a lot of nerve peddling this crap.
Samsung said it was offered to all carriers - It is just a $#!++y move on Verizon's part not to carry it.
I've found numerous articles confirming Sprint including this one.
http://www.popherald.com/20120907_samsung_galaxy_note_2_sprint_verizon_lte-19763
I hope Verizon carries it as they have the best service and best LTE network to date but I have considered switching carriers because they at this time are not offering the note.
Yeah - they seem pretty confident over at Android Police (in a few articles) that Sprint will get it and Verizon won't
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/07/leaked-screenshots-reveal-atts-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-sgh-i317/
Why would Verizon not release the Note 2, the best Android phone in the market on their network? I already looked up my Verizon Early Termination fee and as much as I'd hate to loose Verizon's network, I'll be giving the AT&T 4G LTE network a try with he Note 2 if Verizon does not release the Note 2 on their network.
They already missed the boat with the first note and now again?!
Because maybe Samsung isn't making one for them. Or maybe they've decided to go with something else. Or maybe their market research has shown them that this phone won't sell that well (as if the LG Inspiration will). There could be any number of reasons. Or maybe they WILL carry it, nobody knows for sure yet.
Sprint has the same network as Verizon and I've already seen screens of the Sprint phone. If Sprint can release the Note 2 I don't see why Verizon can't.
As for their "market research," they should Google the "LG Intuition" and read what people think of it. That phone is so badly designed and is going to be a sales flop.
There is a market for the Note 2. The first Note sold over 10 million phones and the second one will do even better. I'm not someone who would normally switch carriers for a phone bu I will do that if Verizon does not offer it. The early termination fee is worth it for me to have this phone.
And I doubt there was an issue with Samsung not offering the phone to Verizon. Just as they did with the Galaxy S3, Samsung wants their top tier phones on all the carriers for the obvious reason of increasing market-share. I have already seen per-release versions of the Note 2 on Sprint, AT&T, and T Mobile so this is why I'm concerned.
Sprint and Verizon operate on different frequencies, their phones are not interchangeable.
I want Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon!!!!
If not, most likely switch to Sprint.
Family plan with 3 smart devices.
If you're on Twitter, you can also make your voice heard by tweeting @VZWSupport. I tweeted asking for a release date and was told to go to a website and sign up for news on device releases. http://t.co/kfgH43MW
So if enough of us tweet, they'll get the message.
I'll say this, I was at Costco and looking at a Note just to make sure if I would want a note2 assuming it was the same size. The guy all but told me that the only people what would get a Note are people that cant see and tech geeks.
Then again, maybe he wanted a Verizon sale that day and knew he would not get one for a Note.
I think it was the sale. lol I used to sell cellphones and we would say anything to stray the customer away from the sale that WOULDNT help us. Tacky, i know. But, in the end...i always say go hard at examining the device. so yeah, i wouldnt listen to a sales person. lol
I agree 110%!!!! Verizon has other "Phablet" phones coming out, so i highly doubt verizon will get the Note 2. Why? Well, mainly there might be contracts with other companies, i.e. LG, HTC, (ones that ARENT Samsung) that Verizon has a quota to hit. I have to give it to Verizon, they have been killing the competition with the LTE 4G service. BUT....when it comes to new updates, new phones, new OS'...Verizon is the WEAKEST at producing satisfying results. Verizon had a good thing going....then BOMB! Its almost like the third world countries didnt want to help Verizon anymore.
I agree. Verizon has the best service, and its almost worth it to switch to another carrier with almost as good as service. I know i wanted to switch once Verizon stopped the 1 year upgrade opposed to just the 2 year upgrade now. Now, i HAVE to wait 2 years when i was used to upgrading every year. The always said it will extend my contract another 2 years...i said i didnt care cause i dont plan on going anywhere....well, now i want to leave due to Verizon most likely wont get the Note 2. Yes, there will most likely be a better phone 6 months AFTER the Note 2. But then again....Verizon more than likely wont get it.
"The guy all but told me that the only people what would get a Note are people that cant see and tech geeks" - that would be about 90% of the execs I support as most are over 40 years old and you start to lose your near sighted vision at 40 plus. There are also a lot of us tech geeks out there and even tech geek wantabees.
I hate those id10ts think everything is a niche market. BMW survives selling to a "niche market" and there are no shortage of them on the market and they have to compete with mercedes, lexus and even acura and cadillac in that "niche" market. By that same token hudai also is a niche market and so are skateboards. I'm ok with Verizon selling a wide variety of skaeboards, but they need a wider selection of BMWs.
The contract my wife and I have is up in December. We've talked about it and since AT&T has just as good service in our area and where I go for work we will be switching to AT&T so that I can get the Samsung Note 2 and she can get her I-phone 5 if Verizon is dumb enough not to carry the Note 2/Journal. Even though the customer service is suppose to be horrible at AT&T.....as long as my bill is correct and I never have to call I could care less. I have had verizon for almost 2 years now and only had to call once and that was to ADD something.

No Note 2 on Verizon = I'm leaving Verizon
How reliable is this website/group for info? I sure hope it's true...Christmas will be VERY nice this year!
And another one. http://briefmobile.com/galaxy-note-2-confirmed-for-verizon-sch-i605
I sure hope the leaks are true about Verizon getting a Note 2. Not sure why they didn't announce this right off the bat. It isn't like Note2 sales would eat into S3 sales much as they are different phones completely (although both are at the top of their class). If it is true the only 2 options I can come up with is they decided to tick off their customers for some sort of twisted pleasure or they actually got the message from all the forums and acted on it.
I will not stay with Verizon if this phone is not carried by Verizon. I've been with Verizon for nearly 10 years, but I will move if that's what it takes.
Ditto! I will be getting this phone....it's merely a question of when and which provider. I'd prefer VZW but if they're not carrying it by the time I'm ready to change my device (or if it's determined they're not going to be carrying it at all) I absolutely make the switch to AT&T, which has comparable service in my area.
Get it and I stay, don't and I go, and it's really as simple as that (not that VZW cases one way or the other about a single account).
Sent from my VZW iPhone
Verizon is carrying this (galaxy note 2) phone they announced two days ago!
Google it.

Rumors are rumors.... Verizon needs to announce, just as ATT and T-Mobile have announced.
Furthermore, they will lose my family plan business and my datacard business. I will also recommend to others who I know have extensive plans with Verizon that they consider other providers based on Verizon's poor ability to provide competitive state of the art phones. I remember waiting two years for the HTC Incredible, my first smartphone. Now I have waited nearly a year for a phablet that's been available on ATT since January. I believe the reason Verizon is not interested in providing this option is it makes too much money off the Ipad and it's plans. Samsung's "Phablet" offers the convenience of a tablet merged with a smartphone, but it cuts into Verizon's revenue stream as one can simply use a single device to adequately surf the web and make phone calls.
Additionally, the LG and HTC product Verizon is promising are inferior to the Samsung product. The LG product offers a smaller screen in a non-standard dimension (4x3). I mean, who thinks up these nightmares? The HTC is on the drawing board, but my understanding is it will not offer a screen size comparable to the Samsung. So either Verizon gets its act together by the end of the year or it's adios.
Why did you wait two years for the DInc? Did you just buy it six months ago?
Absolutely right on that one...wnet thru the same ordeal and frustration. Now, back on that again, as I want the HTC One X which is only offered by AT&T
Just cancelled my Note 2 pre-order. It seems clear that VZW is not going to sell-out the Note 2 by 11/27. And I figure what's two more days, if I change my mind, when the Note 2 is already two months old--at least a year old in current technological time? I was buying off-contract at full price. But I am now hedging that that I can possibly save enough on BF discounts from AT&T/Straight Talk to make up for the loss of the coveted VZW unlimited data plan (which is sure to expire soon for everyone--don't kid yourself, if the unlimited data plan a revenue-losing proposition, VZW will figure out a way to kill this plan eventually, for everyone).
In short, I for one am tired of Verizon playing games with the release of new technology. They seem more worried about supplier agreements and trying to manufacture (i.e., "invent") market value instead of satisfying actual market/customer demand. I hope that Samsung, who is currently the market leader in Android technology, is also sufficiently pissed off with the present situation to turn the tables--"We have the best game in town, we know it, they know it, and in the future we'll supply VZW with phones when we're damned good and ready, if at all."
Cuekwe, I can understand your frustration entirely. If I wasn't on a family plan with 2 other phones locked in contract, I would have already left Verizon for Sprint or AT&T to have this phone already. First we dealt with the waiting game with the iPhone now the Galaxy Note 2...what next Verizon? FRUSTRATED!!!
Well, my contract is up 12/2 so i have time to see how the launch goes
before upgrading. I left att for verizon because att kept dropping
calls. Others with sprint in my area are unimpressed. Havent had any
dropped calls with verizon. So i like the service, i still have to figure
the plans. I use less than 1gig of data now and it looks like the 4 gig
with unlimited talk and text is cheaper then what i now pay, so i may
actually save somee money. I spend alot of time on home wifi, home office.
When I ordered GN2 (10/25) it has always said ship date of 11/27 so there is no need to get frustrated at VZW because we new from the start that 11/27 was the ship date. Now the thing I am a little miffed about is that the largest carrier is the last one to ship it out just because they want to lock the phone down which is BS but fixable and the branding they wanted to add to the great looking phone and mess it all up. But that can be fixed as well by replacing the button or covering it up which I will be doing as soon as I get it. won't see the back because it will be in A case Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Defender Series Case from (otterbox) when they decide to release it as well. Until then I have A cheap case from EBay and A screen protector ready for it but the home button will be cover in any case. In the mean time I will be looking at A bunch of YouTube vids on the phone and downloading the manual for it to learn as much as I can on how to use it and all of it's features.
I have every reason to be frustrated with Verizon with the tardiness of the release dates of their phones. I never once stated that I expected it before 11/27 when preordering the GN2 (would have been nice though). I'm frustrated because they make us wait to get new technology. Like I said, if they continue with this trend, I won't stick around waiting. If we don't complain and let Verizon know that we ARE frustrated, how will they know to correct this?
