No 3 G!!!

This morning my phone dropped 3G.  I have a Droid 2 Global.  I have taken out battery and sim card.  Played with airport settings/voice privacy settings.  I am scratching my head.  I really didn't want to do a hard reset but I am thinking that is my last resort.   Anyone???
