How to track a lost phone w/o Family Locator?

My Droid Razor MAXX has been missing since last Wednesday when I went out of town. I thought I'd left it at home, but have looked everywhere and can't find it. Is there a way for me to track it using the GPS? I checked support, but they only talk about finding it with Family Locator, which costs $10/month and I didn't subscribe to.

Any advice?

If you did not have some type of tracking app installed PRIOR to the loss, then you are probably out of luck. You should report the phone as lost so no one else can activate it on the Verizon network (assuming they haven't already).

My advice for your replacement phone that you install a tracking application (there are free ones from the play store) immediately to prevent a reoccurrence of this tragic event.

There is Plan B by Lookout that's available from the Play Store.

Try Android Lost. You can install it remotely after the device has been lost. It has lots of features for finding your device.

Lookout, or Wheres my Droid. you can install these remotely by logging into Google Play on your computer. Selecting the phone and letting it install. You can also go to Google Latitude online and join Latitude, then use Latitude to show you where the phone is. The problem with Latitude though is it gives you the general location and does not pinpoint it.
