Triangle on signal strength bars

My phone displays a triangle above the signal strength bars.  It will connect to the internet via Wifi but not using the normal Verizon signal.  I cannot receive phone calls.  Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?  I have four bars of signal strength.

This might be the roaming indicator which can come in various ways:

1) You are in a new area without Verizon service.  If this is happening where things used to work, probably not this case

2) Your phone is in GSM mode.  Switch it back to CDMA or Global

3) Your phone has been reset and has not been activated again.  Try *228 option 1.
