it just needs to be compatible for the incredible....and it will say so on the add. the eris batteries should work in the incredible as well. it comes with a 1300mAh so you want to get a bettery that is at least that. i think you can find ones from 1300-1750 that will be the same size. if it's over 1750, it will prolly be thicker than the factory battery and the door wont fit over it.

this is what i got so now i have 3 batteries with an external charger. works out real well.

I work near a VZW store, so I am frequently able to pop in for quick questions. I asked a rep today about the cheap batteries I found on ebay. He said that if they are generic or off-brand, there is a chance they could damage the phone. If your phone is to get damaged in this way, it is not covered under the warranty. So I guess if you save money now by going with the cheap batteries, it could cost you an expensive phone in the long run.

yeah....and i've read on other forums not to use anything but factory brand batteries. however, i've bought cheap batteries for years (camcorder, cell phone, cams, xm radio, etc) on ebay. typically the are shipped from overseas. they've always appeared to me to be the same thing you get with the devices...simply a different label. i've never had problems, but i guess it is supposedly a risk?

it's not "supposedly" a risk, it is a risk, cheap batteries are not just name brand batteries with a different lable, they are inferiorly made, and can have a lower output than they are supposed to or they will have inferior regulation circuitry and will overheat (for one of many reasons) and start on fire. **bleep** ion batteries rely on this circuitry to keep charge/discharge rates low enough and keep them from discharging all the way. any of these conditions will cause the fire these batteries were notorious for just a few years ago.
