Help. My HTC Rhyme screen went black

I was taking a picture with my phone and all of a sudden the screen went black. The phone was still on, as the buttons at the bottom were lighting up, but the screen stayed black. Also, someone called my phone and it will not stop ringing. Is this fixable, or am I going to have to pay for a new phone?

A black screen makes it very hard to do anything on a smartphone! Let's see what can be done! What was going on with the phone prior to it going blank? Have you tried to plug it into a wall outlet or USB on a computer? Did you download an apps recently that seemed to slow down the phone or affect it differently? Now, if it was ringing while on a black screen that at least tells us it's not the network or battery. It's something in the phone. If you are under your 1-year warranty and there is no damage to the device, it can be replaced free of charge. Please update us as to your status and if you still need assistance.
