Getting a Droid X

I am planning to use my wife's upgrade to get me a new X, she used mine a while ago to get an Eris, which she loves and I covet.  I still have a Razr.

 

If I order online, does the phone get automatically activated, or can I activate it on my line?  Never ordered on line before.

You activate it when you receive the phone.  You'll likely need to activate it on your wife's line first, put the Eris back on and then activate the Droid X on your line since you're using her upgrade.   You can call customer service and they can help though
