Wanted to see if anyone used a different battery in their incredible and saw a difference.

i bought 2 1500's on ebay with an external charger. i haven't noticed a longer life....and they were generics that were made for the eris. they work fine and were cheap ($12 for 2 batteries and the charger), but don't seem to last any longer. if you're lookin for the cheap route....do what i did. if you can spend $50 and don't mind a thicker battery, then order the 2300 from vzn. it comes with a back door to the phone because it's twice as thick as the 1300. not for my taste, but would last significantly longer. i'd spend $ on a 2300, if they could make it without being so thick. one of the things i loved most about this phone was it's size.
Just got mine from VZW and I'm charging it now. I'm excited. Maybe I can get through a work day now without having to charge as soon as I get home. I've been pretty disappointed in the battery life of the phone.
*edit* And maybe I can even turn on my wifi now. I'm all giddy with joy!
Yeh I really dont want to add the bigger battery. I was hoping one of the other 2 provided loger life. Is verizon or htc going to do any updates to help with battery life?
i really don't think they can. the battery is what it is. it's an extremely powerful phone and it's just not enough juice. i'd suggest getting what i got on ebay. for $12 it's well worth it. i have the battery in my phone, one in my car, and one at home. since the 2 spares came with the external charger, i never have to plug the phone in. the batteries are always charged and i just rotate them. it takes about 30 seconds to turn off the phone, replace the battery, and turn it back on. i was a bit concerned about taking the back off every day (cheap plastic) but i've been doing this for a month and it's held up great.

Do you still have to shut off programs etc?
