help please.. can't download apps

I got my droid eris about three weeks ago and I love it! I had no problems downloading apps at first but now it won't let me.  I haven't downloaded that many, only around ten.  I hit "download" and it just says downloading but it never does.  I have tried a variety of different ones, too.  Am I doing something wrong?  Also, my phone won't let me watch any videos on youtube.

For downloading,try to turn your phone off. Take out the battery.Put it back in and turn on the phone.See if then you can download again. There have been threads of people talking about youtube videos not being able to play....check out this one-->Youtube Issue
