im trying to find away to see all messages on my childs phone anybody know how?
sign in to My Verizon
select "My Billing" and then "View Bill"
on the right side of the page, select "Data, talk and text activity"
select "Text"
from here you can select which line you'd like to view and it will display all texts sent and recieved (just the number, date, and time....not the actual messages). Please note that if you have an iOS device, this only shows SMS messages and does not include anything sent through iMessage.
The only way you can read the actual messages is on the phone. When you go to your account in My Verizon, you will only see phone numbers and dates/times. You may be able to set up parental controls to turn off messaging at certain times, but I'm not certain.
I saw another member once post a solution that I thought was brilliant: Tell your child to hand over the phone for you to read the messages when you feel like it. If some have been deleted -- which you would know by comparing to My Verizon records -- take the phone away.
Good luck!
SydneyK is correct. Ask for the phone and compare time stamps of messages against the log. If messages are missing, keep the phone.
Parenting, toughest job in the world, yet the best way to handle this issue
Where exactly do you find the numbers and days at? Thats what I am on here looking for.
Hello brendagail,Thank you for posting in our community! I know the importance of knowing your options for viewing text message content. Our children have phones and communicate primarily via text. As SydneyK and budone advised, due to privacy laws, text message content is not available to view online. You are able to view text message times, dates, and the to/from numbers by signing into your My Verizon Account using the steps that AZSALUKI provided. Please let us know if you have further questions. Thanks, TanishaS_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
If it is true that you cannot view text messages conversations on a phone then why does Verizon suggest going to the Verizon Wireless text Messaging website on their own guidance page?
As pointed out in the posts above, the text message content is only available by viewing it on the phone itself. The web site only allows you to view the text message logs.
Tikibar1 didn't really answer your question, did it? Anyway, I think you need to get an answer from Verizon on that and let's see if they comment. I would advise that you give the link for the webpage to which you refer and make a direct quote so that it can be found and read in context.
That would help because I'm not really sure to which instruction you are referring.
Thanks,
Gadfly53
Can you give us a link where Verizon's website says you can read text messaging on the website.
The only instance I know where you can read text messaging conversations on the Verizon website is if you actually send a text message from the website. If you go into MyVerizon and send a text from the website, I believe that there is an option you can check where any replies to the text you sent will be viewable from the website. This, however, is only valid for texts you send which originate from the website. Texts sent from your handset would not be available online.

I'm not an 'it'Anyway, I think you need to get an answer from Verizon on that and let's see if they comment. This is a peer-to-peer forum; Verizon reps occasionally pop in and answer questions, but it's sporadic. This thread and lots of others on this forum have basically answered this question to death.

@brendagail, I'm sure that the answer is unsatisfying.
Good news is that contrary to information provided here, you can monitor the text messages of your children by a variety of software tools.
If you do a search of "cell phone parental control software" you will find software that can be put on the phone which will provide you copies of sms texts, photos and video.
http://www.toptenreviews.com/ reviews the leading applications. You might want to read them and see which best meets your needs.
It is also another way to track and keep a record of your own text messages.
Understand third party apps are not supported by VZW and still would be considered a privacy issue. Especially for anyone over 18 or a spouse or significant others.

well of course you can install spyware to to do this. you can install spyware on just about anything, but i don't believe that is what the OP is looking to do. i could be wrong. and if the kid is at all tech savvy, s/he will know it's running and simply uninstall it.
hi im trying to retrieve deleted texts and pics from my 2nd line but unable to see the actual mess i can see the time sent and received but not what im looking for , is there any way to do this thanks
Unless the deleted texts were backed up before being deleted, there isn't a way to retrieve them. You can see the text logs (time sent/received, but not actual message content) on your MyVerizon account; the information for the current billing cycle is under Current Usage and previous usage is under View My Bill, then use the drop-down for the appropriate billing cycle (text logs are maintained for the past 90 days).
i can see all that i just want to see the actually messages .. thanks !verizon needs to fix this and have it avail for their cust , after all it is our info..
would it be possible to have my child's text messages automatically forwarded to my phone?

No and if you don't trust you kid don't give them a cell phone.
You can try THIS. I have no idea how well it works.
there are apps for this, like the one rcschnoor mentioned. however, this i only an option if your son has a smartphone.
My boyfriend set it up so that he recieves his son's messages immediately - both have iPhones. Also, he knows when someone tries to facetime his son. He did not purchase spyware or an additional service either. Now he just has to remember how he did it!!
I am new with all of this , what is an sms
