Texting US Numbers From Bahamas

Hi, soon I'm going to the Bahamas and I was really wondering if I could text US numbers from the Bahamas at no extra charge. I've done tons of research but have found nothing related to my question. I've found information saying that something about needing to use the wireless network provided in the Bahamas, and I just wanted to ask someone who knows what they're talking about. Just to reiterate - texting to US numbers from a US phone IN the Bahamas.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Text Message rates while traveling in Bermuda, Canada, Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are the same as rates while within the United States. So the Bahamas should not incur any additional special charges.

If you are able to get service of course! I was in the out islands (Abaco islands) and was not able to get any service. I think grand bahama island does get CDMA service though.
