I have been billed for sending one text, which I do not know how to do, and for four texts received. I do not want to send or receive text messages. How can I avoid and stop?

Call customer service(*611) and have all texting blocked on your line. I believe you may also be able to do this online in MyVerizon.
Call Customer Service and verify that your phone did send/receive texts ... there may be a glitch somewhere in the system. If you didn't send/receive any, sometimes Customer Service will reverse the charges. You can also have them put a text block on your phone.
