This update was promised before the end of the year! It went out through a mistake to a couple users on December 24th. So when will we get it?
I thought I saw Motorola updated their schedule as 1Q 2013 for the original DROID Razr and DROID Razr Maxx.
Do you have a link to where I can see when that update should be released?
Some rumors have the release as this month, some have it as Q1 2013; schedule hasn't been updated yet to reflect either one:
https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c
So this is interesting...I called Motorola and asked them and they said they have no fixed date but that it will be soon, they referred me to Verizon...I called Verizon and they said they started rolling it out to users on December 28th and that it will come to me soon....and to ask Motorola if I can be updated sooner....
So based on this and the info you said about Q1 2013 I am pretty confident that the update is taking place now its just a matter of checking daily for the update...
Ive also read several android boards and all sources point toward the end of the first quarter. When i first received my razr maxx it was running gingerbread . From day one i had major connection issues ,hotspot would stay connected for a few mintes at a time, gps problems and a host of other issues. I eargerly awaited ics and since ive had it on my razr maxx ive not had one issue. Kinda odd that it fixed all for me and sent most scratching their heads. I think when jb does hit i might just keep on with ics until im sure jb is safe and no real bugs before i do a update. If its not broke dont fix it they say. Jesse

I don't ever remember seeing anywhere that it was promised before Jan 1st. According to Moto's site it has always been and is still listed as:
DROID RAZR (XT912)
ICS (Android 4.0.4) rollout began in June 2012. Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
DROID RAZR MAXX (XT912)
Didn't you hear rumors are always true?

True..
It's Feb 15th 2013 & I haven't received an update notice yet. Has anyone got it from Verizon todate?

Patience... What is it that JB has that makes it so important to get it?
Ummm...Google Now. That's what it has. This is a HUGE feature.
Verizon takes forever to deliver their updates. Google and Motorola released the update long ago. Verizon is holding it up. They do this on purpose to get you to buy one of their newer phones. If you want Google updates fast, I would recommend AT&T and a Samsung Galaxy S phone or a Nexxus phone. Note, the Galaxy S-III already has Android 4.1.2. This phone came out shortly after ours. Our Droid RAZR Maxx will only get 4.1 and we will get it in March (the end of the promised Q1).
I have 4.1.1 right now. 4.1.2 is already out?
4.1 has not been rolled out yet to the Droid Razr or Razr Maxx (you may have the Razr HD or Razr Maxx HD).
I was referring to the Galaxy S-III, which I am told is starting to roll out Android 4.1.2 at least for some carriers. Basically, the Samsung phones get preferential tratment because the Google Flagship phone was a Nexxus and Jellybean was built for it. So, it's an easier transition for Samsung requiring less testing and development. Motorola has to test the Jellylbean update with all the motorola interfaces and drivers, etc... This takes time, and carriers prefer to focus their resources on the newer products that bring in sales. For example, the Droid Razr Maxx HD.
This is the official Motorola Release Schedule. It is updated quarterly and last update Dec 2012

Ya I was one of those customers that received the JB update in Dec by mistake. I wish to god my phone would have neve downloaded it. So much for buying a super fast phone with dual processors, since that update my phone has been SO SLOW, freezes up and I'm having to charge it at least 3 times a day if not more and all I really do is text, I use to be able to text and make about 10 calls every day and my battery would last me all day. from about 11 am to about 10 or 12 at night. The update also took away the sleep feature on the power menu which I used every night. I've went threw and deleted almost every app I have I've disabled all my sync and backup apps turned off the google + or what ever that new search feature is. Nothing has helped make my phone run and work like it use to. And you call Verizon Tech Support and their answer to it is factory reset the phone, if that doesn't help then sorry just have to wait for the Official release and hope that fixes the issues.
I didn't look through all the posts, but have you done the factory reset since you got the JB update? There are a lot of people that recommend it after an OS update. Might be worth your time if you have not. You can then see if the phone works as stock, without apps, etc, and then you will know if it is an app or just the OS.
Soak Test successful.
Will be distributed....real soon.
Worth the wait, too.
:smileyhappy:
It is a nice improvement, you should see it delivered in the next few hours.

Yea, I just checked for the update, and it is there. I don't want to do it right now, I will wait a little bit to see how it goes with others.
I just checked my phone at 9 am eastern time and the update is there....Downloading it now
Today.
Well I received the other JB update on my Razr and it did fix the issue of my phone dying so fast but I've still got the issues, of the phone being extreamly slow sometimes and freezing up and now the latest I'll push the standby button to wake the phone up to make a call or send a text play a game or something and the 4 main buttons will light up like the, menu, home, back and search keys but the screen remains black. I called tech support and of course their solution was to do a master rest which we did so I lost all my game progress and things and still didn't fix the problem. I really wish my phone still had the ICE software it ran so great then. Also tech support told me to go to a Verizon store that has a tech support area and they would be able to replace the phone but they don't seam to understand that I'm disabled so it's not that easy for me to gt around.
My Droid Razr Maxx is downloading it right Now!
Mine says still up to date?? WTF why can't I get the JB Update???
Have you modified your phone at all? If so, you won't be able to get an OTA update. You would need to do a factory reset and clear the cache to get back to stock.

The JB update is from .211, not .215. You took yourself off the OTA when you went to .215. You need to go back to .211. Matt Groff wrote a utility that will take care of this for you over on www.droidrzr.com
