Upgrading the memory card

I ma trying to upgrade (replace) the memory card in my son's Mot Razr M phone. It came with a 2 gig card and I bought him a 8 gig card for the holidays. Is there an automatic way to copy the contents from the old card to the new card? I am trying not to have to install everything again.

I usually copy the entire contents of the old card to a folder on my computer. Then I copy the folder contents to the new card. Turn off the phone if it isn't already off. Swap out the SD cards and reboot the phone.
