Vibrate mode for texts

When my phone is in vibrate mode, for texts and other notifications it will not vibrate. I know how to go into each individual app and select the feature. I do not want the phone to vibrate when the volume is up...which is what sound and vibrate does. Is anyone aware of how to enable vibrate for texts while in vibrate mode?

There is a separate setting to turn the vibration on for text messages. 

Open up the messaging app

Press the Menu key

Select Settings

Scroll until you find Notification settings

Put a check on Vibrate
