Favorite Contacts widget?

According to a thread on Android Central, there are some Verizon S4 users who have a favorite contacts widget and some (myself included) who don't. Any way to get this without resorting to a 3rd party app? (Or could it be that those who do have it, knowingly/unknowingly have a 3rd party app?)

I have three widgets, any or all of which can be dragged to a home screen. They are 'contact', 'direct dial', and 'direct message'. After dragging to the home screen you can assign a contract to each.

I don't have it either. but Since I only keep a few I just but a Icon on the page where it would have been for each contact worked for me, But I know it won't for all....Good Luck.

Not sure if it's a bug or not but in Home Desktop mode EASY the Favorite Contacts Widget is available and in standard touch wiz mode it's not. If you run Nova Launcher it will make the Widget available for Nova Launcher. I am sure sometime in the future Samsung will fix this provided the updates get approved from Verizon. I have no first hand knowledge on if and when this will get fixed....
