For about two months I've been having a problem with my camera. Originally, it would freeze at a black screen and I'd have to restart... it would also have trouble focusing on anything further than a few inches away. Over the last week, I did factory resets about twenty times or more. The problems with the back frozen screen hasn't occurred. But it is still have a problem with the autofocus. About 30% of the time after the factory reset, the autofocus would work...but only for a little while. The other 70% of the time, it wouldn't focus immediately after the factory reset. I turned off the backup function; didn't connect to google; didn't restore any apps... and it would still didn't work. The lens is clean and the sticker is removed. I also tried it in safe mode; and it is the same. I have tried the camera function in other apps (facebook, instagram, etc) and it is blurry like the factory camera app. I've played around with the camera options (nighttime, anti-shake, etc).... but nothing helps.
It won't search and adjust focus. Usually you can tap the screen to choose an object to focus on... but when you tap, it doesn't do anything. It just stays fixed at close objects. I don't know what else to do. All of the information online, seems to suggest the factory reset. I got a software update in July, and it seems like that is when the trouble started. I've checked and it is up to date (Andriod v4.2.2 and baseband version I545VRUAME7). I haven't modified my system or installed any unreliable apps.
Please help! The upgrade to the Galaxy for the camera; and haven't been able to get any use out of it (aside from pics three inches from lens).
