4.3 has rendered phone useless

Is there any way to "undo" the 4.3 update? Do we know if Verizon/Samsung is in the process of fixing these issues?

*Connection is ATROCIOUS. I'm constantly getting no signal or roaming now. This is causing battery to drain FAST.

*Can't connect to wifi anymore. Keep getting the "unstable" message and connection is dropped. Constant cycling is also draining battery.

*Can't charge in my car without doing a reboot of the phone using the BRAND NEW Verizon charger I literally bought 2 days before the OTA update

*Constant security warnings as the phone disconnects from wifi

*Keyboard is hanging up. Type... nothing... Type... nothing... Type... nothing... then "typetypetype" shows up.

*The menu that appears on the left side of the screen reappears EVERY TIME THE SCREEN GOES TO SLEEP

These are just the issues I've found. I'm sure even more will rear their ugly head when I can actually stay connected and start using it. Wonder if we'll get any sort of billing adjustments since I'm using more data due to lack of wifi?

How did this "update" even make it to distribution???? I had ZERO issues before and now I'm ready to toss the thing out of the window!

I just got the 4.3 update this morning in metro Atlanta. I can comment on a couple of these.

The WiFi and security-warning issues (related to the new Knox security app from Samsung, which many people are finding obnoxious) seem to be pretty random, with some people having them and some not. I got one "unauthorized access to a secured part of the phone" warning right after the update. I accepted the offer to update Samsung security policies, and after that I haven't seen another one. It's still early, though, less than an hour in.

I'm usually not on WiFi even at home, but I decided to connect to my home WiFi network. So far, so good. No instability issues, and no security warnings when connecting or disconnecting. (I actually like that WiFi is now in the Notifications area settings, rather than having that ever-present notification about it.) It seems to be a matter of luck (maybe I should go out and buy a lottery ticket ). Or perhaps it's public WiFi connections that have the problem?

The menu on the left side of the screen is the Multi Window menu. It can be a handy thing for some purposes, once you know how to use it, but obviously not everyone wants to be bothered by it. It seems a little different than it was before the update, but basically it's a two-step process: enable it with a Notification-area setting, then turn it on or off by long-pressing the Back key (easy to do by mistake, for me). If it's popping up and you don't want it, try pulling down the Notification screen, then tapping the square-boxes icon in the upper right to see all of the settings. (Apparently you can't just scroll right to get them all anymore.) Multi window should be in the third row, and you can disable it there. Or do Settings > My device > Display, then uncheck Multi window.

Hope this is some little help. Lots of people are having the WiFi and security-warning problems, and I feel fortunate to have somehow avoided them.

I didn't have any of the problems which KC is reporting when I first updated. However, after doing a reboot of my phone—something I like to do every couple of days or so—I am now having many of those same annoying and obnoxious issues, and I'm experiencing some of that same frustrations. From what I've read elsewhere, this is a result of KNOX, which I neither wanted, nor needed, nor can figure how how to get rid of or disable.

Get on the ball people and fix this pronto! This is how companies lose once loyal customers.

There's one more thing I'd like to add, which KC did not mention. I noticed that the notification bar no longer lists which WiFi SSID the phone is connected to. While this is more of an annoyance rather than a problem, it still bothers me. My home network, as well as the home networks of many of family and friends who I often visit, have two SSIDs: once for the 2.4 GHz band, and one for 5 GHz. I usually prefer to be on the 5 GHz band whenever possible, and being able to know which SSID I am connected to simply by swiping down the notification bar saves the time and energy of having to keep going into the setting to check. It's even more important now to have this info since this KNOX thing seems to want to keeping switching the SSID connection from one to the other, even when I'm in full range of both bands.

I use a method of not ever connecting to the 2.4 GHz band of the wifi SSID if I can avoid it to prevent two choices for the phone to pick when in range of the router. You can also go into the list of saved wifi connections and "forget" the other 2.4 GHz connections.

Interesting. I don't find this to be the case. I just logged on to my home WiFi, and now when I pull down the notification screen, it is listed just as it was before. I wonder if there's any way that what RippyT is experiencing could be a Knox mess too.

If you didn't actually download and install Knox, I'm not sure that it's actually causing problems, though. And while you can't uninstall or disable the Knox litter that came with the update, if you did actually install it, it can be uninstalled (so I hear on other forums).
