I am right there with you. I am now hearing talks of 4.4 coming to the Note 2 but still have not received a SINGLE update on this phone since I got it almost a year ago. This "flagship" that we have isn't getting much of any attention, and really making the risk with rooting the device more acceptable because at least then I can get updates and bug fixes instead of ignored. I can sit for hours on the phone with Verizon and in the stores with no clarification. Not only am I starting to feel like VW doesn't care about supporting the product, but worse so knowing I am locked into a "dead" device unless I pay full price for a different phone. Thanks but no thanks.

Have u tried Kies air to update it
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/12/04/galaxy-note-2-android-4-3-update-roll-continues-u-s/ The above link adds to the frustration as US Cellular now has the 4.3 update and Big Red still does not, the Note 2 has the least problems with the update and yet we still do not have it? No information Verizon, way to upset your customers just to bloatware the cap out of 4.3. Pushing customers towards other carriers is bad for business but I am sure you are not worried about the customer as much as the bottom line. If one person pays and uses the Verizon Navigation app on a smart phone, maybe that offsets the cost of putting it on every phone.
No Kies with Verizon :smileysad:
Kies does not allow interaction for updating the Note for the Verizon Variant

Maybe you can answer this Gabriel. I am a total novice when it comes to smart phones. My youngest son helps me a lot, but I don't think he can answer this. I don't know how to tell if I am about to get an upgrade, or in the process of getting an upgrade, or if I must get the upgrade via my computer or WiFi. Do I have to make the first move, or does Verizon? Oh, BTW, I am talking about my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android Version 4.1.2. There was a leaked chart online that said the 4.3 update would be released 11/29/2013. Various folks say that kind of leak means nothing.
Any help to allay my confusion and anxiety will be appreciated.

Ken, you don't have to do anything. Verizon will push the update directly to your phone when it's ready. You'll receive a message indicating the update is available and asking you if you'd like to install it. Be sure your battery is fully charged when you accept. I, for one, am glad we haven't received it yet. Lots of complaints from those who have on other carriers...wifi issues, bluetooth issues, and more.
can we get any idea when we will get the update?

When the people testing it approve it.
bluestar,
Thanks for the clarification of the process, and the tip, like make sure my battery is fully charged before accepting the update. I definitely don't want an update that is loaded with programming errors, even if I get the update before someone else does. I unquestionably feel better now. Thanks bluestar.

This whole ordeal is absolutely ridiculous. I shell out over $250 a month for service along with spending the full price for my note 2. I believe for this simple fact all of us deserve to get at least a "we're working on it." Instead of the slap in the face we've been getting. I will never again purchase a Samsung and will be switching providers.
U know verizon they want to load it with other stuff first at&t dont have it either
So the biggest and supposedly the best is the last one to release update?
This is ridiculous!
So I guess "Flagship" doesn't mean what we think it means. Thanks Verizon/Samsung I guess getting excited over an unusable $300 watch should make me a proud Verizon customer. This is humiliating. Just give all Note 2 owners a Note 3 if the 4.3 update has proven too difficult for you. Even AT&T beat you...sickening.
At least have the decency to say "Hey Verizon Note 2 owners, thanks for being suckered into buying a $300 watch that you can't use. We might update your device if we feel like it, we're not sure. We're still busy trying to figure out how much memory we can destroy with bloatware. Just sit tight, you'll be able to use your Galaxy Gear in a year or so when your contract is ready for upgrade. All you have to do is cough up another $300 for the next "Flagship" that is probably maybe guaranteed to work."
Some Note II users are receiving the update with VZW Software Upgrade Assistant by plugging it into their computers. I605VRUEMJ9 must be getting closer to a complete roll out.
Verizon never gives word about the status of updates until they are ready to go - you'll know its coming when they release the changelog.
the update is now available. check your phones people
Be warned. Don't update through your desktop. Update from your phone. I reluctantly click update button on my computer when I try to charge my phone and it's just pain >>removed<< and got error after 8 hours of updating through verizon software assistant. So just go through your phone to update.
It seems i got updating error when I opened video file through internet browser.
Yes he is correct
Now we get to hear everyone complain about how the update ruined their phone
I wouldn't miss it for the world!
I just did a software check and 4.3 is now available for Note2!!
Here is a walkthrough:

You could also try installing Verizon's Upgrade Assistant by plugging your phone into the PC. There is a repair option in there.
same here i just checked didnt think there would be one and got it and dowloading it now so happy
I downloaded mine last night about 3 AM. Everything went well. I'm really happy I didn't "brick" the phone. No problems with the phone today, but didn't have a lot of time to check it out. Happy in Corona, CA. :smileyhappy:
I have two of the Note 2's,.....one for me and one for my wife. Last night I was automatically informed that both of our phones were downloading the update. Didn't know it was the 4.3 update, but evidently this is what it was. This may seem petty but I was greatly dismayed to notice that, upon completion of the new update, my calculator was dramatically changed to a different version which I don't like at all. Do I have any recourse on this? I really would like my old calculator back. Can someone please explain what this new 4.3 update is good for,.....other than bringing the Note 2 up to some of the same specifications of the Note 3? This is my understanding thus far. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
