Zombie E-mail

I have a strange problem that is driving me crazy! I got the phone August 12. First few weeks no problem. I check and deal with E-mail every day. All my deleted E-mails keep coming back. It will load current E-mails as well as 20 old E-mails every time! I have deleted these E-mails from my home computer as well and have even cleared the "deleted E-mail" file from the phone. Also have "delete from server when I delete" checked. Where in Cyberspace is it getting these E-mails from?? Please help as I get very stressed over this.

Hi Radrangerrick,

Wow! This is a little odd. Let's get these emails sorted out. What kind of account is it? (exchange, POP, IMAP) Who is the provider? I noticed you said they are appearing out of nowhere. Is this only happening on your phone? Does this happen on other devices too? Please keep us posted.

I have a POP account with verizon.net. This only happens on my phone. First I get “last week”, then 2 weeks ago, then 3 etc. Its now sending me things from the beginning of sept.

Just to verify, are you able to connect to the internet on the device without any issues? Also, what software and android version do you have installed on the device? I am able to connect to internet sites just fine. My phone has Android Ver 4.2.2. I think it uses Googol for going on the web. I should point out that I got my phone on Aug. 12, 2013. It keeps going further and further back in my history until it gets to Aug. 12. Then it repeats Starting with days ago, then last week, then two weeks ago etc. It has completely cycled twice already. Now Sunday Oct. 27. It has stopped doing this because it reached Aug 12th. It has not started again yet as of 6:30pm. We shall see if it has ceased for good.
