I understand that BlackBerry OS 10.2 is being rolled out internationally across the globe. When will this important release be available on Verizon? I keep checking but don't get any updates on the release date. TZ
BlackBerry_Q10_TZ, good things come to those that wait. I apologize that we're unable to confirm or provide a release date for software updates at this time. However stay tuned. All software updates are provided right here: http://bit.ly/n5snpq LasinaH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Would it be possible for you to give us an exact date please.
Thanks for the response. It would be helpful to set some kind of expectations here for Verizon. All the other Carriers are publishing dates. Would you dig a little deeper into Verizon corporate and see if you can find a date? If not a date - then some approximation - like December 2013 ? No information is really a frustration... Thanks,
If you can't wait for Z10 STL100-4 Official OS 10.2.0, you can update by Z10 STL100-3 Official OS 10.2.0. This OS rocks me. And the official one is smoother than the leaks.
With Q10, you can use SQN 100-3 of Roger
I'm not satisfied with waiting for good things. In as much as I pay more for Verizon than any of the other providers, I don't believe I should have to wait for good things. I think you should give me good things much more quickly as I'm paying a premium for it (and could pay someone else less to get things faster). What I'd really like is a reason why verizon is unable to provide the same speed of updates as their competitors. I'd like to know the REASON for the delay, specifically. What is the reasoning process that resulted in the decision to not provide us with quick service? I don't need any links to check on availability btw.
Cytoplasm is right. We pay a Premium for Verizon. Why should there be anything but the very best, fastest and error free updates and service delivery? I really see no excuse for Verizon - we are getting treated like 2nd class citizens...
I used Sachesi to download and install Rogers' 10.2 onto my Q10 and it functions perfectly. There's a lot of good into on this process over at Crackberry. And Sachesi (free) works with Mac OSX Mavericks as well as Windows.
AND, as I've heard from someone else who installed the leak, 10.2 adds the option to delete e-mail from handheld only, which I'm really happy about!
We appreciate your excitement and sense of urgency with OS updates BlackBerry_Q10_TZ! We definitely don't want you to feel that way. We treat you with first class service everyday by delivering the ultimate quality network and support! Thank you for your patience. I'm sorry we don't have specific information or an ETA for the next update.JonathanK_VZWVZW SupportFollow Us on Twitter@VZWSupport
This is brutal. Was the link they provided suppose to link to software release updates? It takes me to some BS marking page.
This really is ridiculous................................. I miss Sprint.
I have a mac with Mavricks and the q10 on verizon. Having trouble getting Sachesi to install and the whole process. Would love some pointers if you have any!!! THANK YOU! :smileyhappy:
I agree ! Been with Verizon over 15 years this is my 3rd blackberry. Where's the 10.2 update ?
...still waiting...
Big news on CrackBerry that the new 10.2 is ready and being down loaded! Where is it Verizon?
I've been waiting too for 10.2 and had been hoping it would remedy some of the problems I've been having with my Q10. I really wanted to like this thing, but regretted the "upgrade" from my wonderful 9930 Bold. (Incidentally, the folks at my local Verizon store said, after I'd complained that they didn't consider that an "upgrade") Nice to know after the fact. My Q10 would loose some of my email passwords every couple of weeks. Not the same ones, and not predictably enough to reset them in time to get emails I count on for my work. I'd have to check the phone every so often, to see if the expected email was there, or, if the phone simply didn't have that password anymore. It had other little annoying things it would do, but I had enough, and stopped in to my local Verizon store and said I'd had enough. I was told (nicely) if I didn't like it, I could buy a new phone at full price and start over. This had been my 5th Blackberry with Verizon, and I have 5 other lines on a family share plan. I ended up paying full price for a new IPhone 5s, and couldn't be more pleased with the performance. So I'm pleased with the phone, but disappointed with Verizon's response to the issues with the Q10. I hope when the update finally arrives, it works for all those who are waiting more patiently that I did.
I left Sprint after 7 years, and paid ETF for 2 lines because I got sick of waiting for Sprint to release the Q10. I waited 4 months.
I came to VZW specifically for this phone, and have been plagued with hardware and software issues. 3 replacement phones later, and I'm still having problems doing basic things. Once again, I find myself sick of waiting for a carrier that I'm paying to do something basic - release an updated OS that has been out in other places for months.
I have read all of the forums and seen all of the VZW robot replies about "no release date yet, check our website for updates" B/S. I'm in the process of using Sachesi to download the cracked 10.2 as we speak. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DO THIS, and the lack of even a real answer or ETA from Verizon shows how little they actually care about their customers.
With that said, if 10.2 doesn't fix these problems, I'll be cancelling Verizon as well - with the help of this great tidbit they don't want you to know - how to cancel any time with no ETF. Maybe when customers start taking action, Verizon will start to listen. I'm disgusted, Verizon. Shame on you.

Hi Sickofwaiting,We know that software updates do make the device sweeter! Rest assured Verizon Wireless and Blackberry are working hard to ensure that you have the best device experience. We do not have a software release date for this device. You can keep up with the latest software news for the Blackberry Q10 here http://vz.to/1ePVfTl Thanks,PamelaF_VZWTweet us @vzwsupport
Hi Verizon Wireless,
I am a long time corporate customer of Verizon and it seems that the current software on the Blackberry Q10 will not allow us to sync deleted e-mails. This is an UNACCEPTABLE situation for business customers who received 500 or more e-mails per day. Our IT department has said that this issue will resolved with the 10.2 software release. Could you please tell me when this will be released? If not, I will cancel my plan and move to AT&T. I will also suggest that course of action to everyone in my organization as a number of people use Blackberries for corporate e-mail and cannot tolerate this kind of service. You are the incumbent telecommunications provider in the USA -- I expect better service. How does T-mobile have the software already and Verizon doesn't? It's shocking.
Please revert back with a timetable and workable solution.
Best,
Erin
Seriously???? Its nearly the end of February and verizon still doesn't know when they're going to release 10.2? And the same tired and very generic replies to simple questions. That's the best verizon can do??
Where is the 10.2.1 update for Q10? My phone still has the REALLY REALLY OLD 10.1.0.4189 from ancient times - it is antediluvian. Why does Verizon not push out the update that BlackBerry released months ago? It is beyond absurd. It is beyond ridiculous.
Even this link ( http://vz.to/18AXCqX ) shows Z10 last updated 01/28/2014, and Q10 last updated 08/21/2013. Why would the Z10 get the update literally a month ago... But for the Q10 there isn't even an ETA, or any word at all whatsoever from Verizon about any plans? For all we know, they will never push out the 10.2.1 update for Q10.
Which is insanity because it's not like Verizon has to do any work, except release the download that BlackBerry gave them. Why is Verizon so stupid and horrible? Do they not know that by treating their customers like garbage, they will increase animosity towards Verizon?
The news sites all said that Verizon Z10 got the update on 2/4 and Verizon Q10 got it on Q10... But I'm sitting here on 2/26 and still no update for my Q10, and everyone else is saying the same thing! What is going on Verizon? Any actual reliable information on this would at least be something! I already moved 8 of my 9 family's phones to a different carrier, because why pay a premium for service that is no better? It's just a matter of time before I move my last phone over too... Verizon, get off your lazy rear end and DO SOMETHING.
Verizon,
Your dropping the ball on us, blackberry users. Why can't you guys push the update? Been what 4 months since os 10.2 was released. Let's get rolling, you gotta keep your customers happy.
Ok, I'm generally a patient person, but this has gotten ridiculous.
When I called tech support this evening, I was told that the OS 2.0 had not been released to any carriers....
Seriously? o_o
Those of us whom have been awaiting Verizon to catch up to other carriers know for a fact that it has been released.
If you need to verify go to blackberry.com or www.crackberry.com
Ridiculous.......
Our last option is to lose you as a valued customer LONG_TIME_VZ_CUSTOMER! I'm sorry to hear of your business challenges in regards to email deletion. We make OS update announcements via our news site. I'm sorry we don't have a specific date. I would hope you wouldn't leave the best network and support based on a single device feature. Blackberry handsets have evolved into much more than just e-mail device now. I hope you will be able to enjoy all the other fantastic features and apps in the meantime. We appreciate your feedback.http://bit.ly/n5snpq JonathanK_VZWVZW SupportFollow Us on Twitter@VZWSupport
From various chatter, I'm feeling that no release is good news. I've heard there are a few issues with people that have 10.2, so hopefully BB is working on some fixes. Yes, I'm just as pissed and as impatient as anybody, but I don't think this is on Verizon. If their are still a bunch of bugs, consider everyone that has the current version of 10.2 as BETA testers.
Glass half full.
Where did you read this? I haven't read anything about 10.2.1 being more buggy. All the BlackBerry websites I've read say that 10.2.1 is awesome and less buggy and was released on most other carriers around the world, including even Verizon on the Z30 (but not Q10). The glass is not half full. Most of the blame (and accountability) should be placed on Verizon.
Regardless of bugs or not, Verizon should at least say something official to the public. Official sources online have been saying 10.2.1 is at BlackBerry, out on Verizon for Z10 Z30, out on Q10 for other carriers... And expected to be released for Q10 on Verizon on 2/4 or 2/10 - which means it is now a month later than the already late release date, and no official word on this at all from Verizon. Why can't they give an explanation and an ETA? Or at least on ETA on when they will have an ETA? Or at least acknowledge that they are at some point in the next 3 months (or ever) going to release 10.2.1 so that customers like me can decide whether to keep waiting or to consider other alternatives (install leak, change phone, change carriers). The longer Verizon screws with us, the more angry people like me get at Verizon and don't want to have any relationship with them (except to go around bashing them on the internet, to friends, and picket signs outside their stores).
How do you not have a release date?
I think it's our own fault for even trying VeriZon. First of all, they told me the Bold was a 4g phone. I bought it and wondered why it was so slow. Turned out that it was a 3g only phone. I told them they lied and they didn't believe me. Thankfully I found the chat log where the rep told me it was 4g. After a lot of lies and having to provide the proof several times and the most horrible customer service experience I have ever had, they caved and sold me the q10 and I returned the Bold. Now, it turns out that the Blackberry updates are suppressed by the carrier and I cannot update for the latest security? - which is why I use BB in the first place. We fail to see the tyranny sometimes and how bad this company really is until something like this happens. I am leaving VeriZon Wireless asap. Should have seen this coming, i guess. They offer the worst support and customer service on the planet, just look at the patronizing response from the employee: "good things come to those that wait." Thanks for the tip ass hat. Go fuck yourself.
We use devices on all the major carriers and the update is just fine. We also have updated all of our Verizon Z10's to the latest OS with no issues. Our users are happy to see legacy features returning, and our Verizon Q10 users are asking for the same.
Well everyone T-Mobile now has it.
Blackberry 10.2.1 Rolling Out For T-Mobile Today

Couldn't have said it any better.
I would like to think BB users are pretty intelligent and on this platform for a reason. Therefore the total "no comment" from Verizon AND Blackberry is absurd and deplorable. Tell us what the issues are that you feel you have to protect us from, we're all big boys and girls!
Evidently Blackberry users are on the very bottom of their priorities list, why else would Verizon be the the last to update, or even never offer the update at all (notice Verizon never, ever, committed to releasing a 10.2 update). They already got our money, and their contracts. Then again, maybe it's just the new Verizon - I've been with Verizon since they started and gotta say, I've paid the premium prices because they used to have amazing service. Thatr service is deteriorating over the past couple of years though. It used to be when you call customer service, you'd get a live person to help right away, now you have to keep talking to a computer which keeps saying "I'm sorry, I did not understand, please tell me what you'd like to do" - if I wanted to check my balance or so something routine, I'd do it online. If I call, it's something the computer does not now how to handle, yet I have to waste time talking to a machine. I also recently bought a couple of iphones for Christmas, together with $90 Lifeproof cases. When I came back because one of the cases was defective, they told me to wait 30+minutes in a queue, while 3 agents did nothing but chatted with each other, occasionally signing up a new customer into the queue. I ended up just buying a new case in a Best Buy across the street, then returning the Verizon case at a later time just before closing time (amazing how much quicker the service is just before closing, it only took 15 min wait). When one of the iPhone chargers stopped working, I waited 20 minutes at a Verizon store just to find out that Verizon doesn't handle Apple exchanges and they sent me to an Apple store (which was happy to exchange one in less than 3 minutes after I walked into the store in the middle of afternoon rush). I know now to never go to a Verizon store to buy any accessories.
Just got notified that Verizon has released the update.... J
Installing now!

Anyone else having problems using wifi hotspot since upgrading to 10.2.1 on Verizon? It used to work fine on 10.2.0 and now since upgrading it says "Regulations in this country prohibit hot spot usage". Please help!
Finally it's released... something like 6 weeks later than I thought it was supposed to be released, but at least now I am finally happily running 10.2.1 on my Q10. I can only pray that Verizon will do better with future updates for Q10.
quid_nunc,Thanks for reaching out to us today. This seems to be a pretty strange issue that you are having. Have you been able to power the device off and remove the sim card from the phone? If not, let's try that step real quick. Here is a great link that will give you the step by step directions to get that taken care of: http://vz.to/1nS6akg Once that has been finished re-try the hotspot. Keep us posted.KevinR_VZWPlease follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
