Where does Verizon spell out the details of its Asurion "Total Equipment Coverage" insurance?

Answer: Nowhere that I can see.

I got royally burned when, nearly two years later, I found that Assurian wanted twice as much money ($100) for a new phone (Droid X2) as what I could buy it for on Ebay ($50). Even though I had been paying $7 per month for many months. On top of that, they were going to give me a refurbished phone.

DO NOT buy the Assurian insurance. It's a complete fraud, and Verizon is not being truthful and is not disclosing the "details" of this option, an neither is Asurion, despite settling a class action lawsuit in 2007.

I am so peeved that I plan to cancel my Verizonwireless service next month. This is not what I consider ethical behavor on the part of either Verizon or Asurion, and this was the last straw.

They have many ways to find all the details on the plan(Call, Chat, Online). If fact they send you literature on it when you sign up for the service. And BTW most cell companies use Asurion as well, inlcuding AT&T. They are replacing your phone aren't they? There is a deductible as with all types of insurance, they aren't asking $100 for the phone rather they are asking for the deductible which would have been agreed upon by you when you signed up. If you got car insurance and never submitted a claim would that be fraud since you paid for it for many months? Absolutely not, and it doesn't matter if its cheaper on eBay, if you feel that way just cancel the insurance and buy the phone on eBay.

Please tell me how you access that link from Verizon's web site. I did not find it. I suspect it's an "orphan" link. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one, based on all the other complaints.

As for "many ways"...this morning I attempted to both call and chat, and neither option was available. Your customer service is overloaded and you're not doing anything about it.

Tell me, if you had sent $7 a month for insurance for years and then found out it was worse than useless, would you not be upset? Would you blame yourself for not launching a full-scale research prior to buying, or would you have expected the company you bought it from to be straightforward? Is Verizon's policy to partner with companies that deceive and cheat their customers?

Every dishonest company in the entire world will always provide some sort of excuse, blaming their customer for purchasing their product. Anyone can make it difficult find the facts of their policies or service agreements and thus defraud their customers while, ostensibly, staying barely within the law. I expected better from Verizon.
