No data without wifi

My phone works just fine when I am near a wifi network. But this weekend I wanted to check the weather when I was about town, and the app wouldn't load data. I could not retrieve emails or anything else either. In case it was a fluke, I tested it again, 2 more times. If I am not on my wireless networks at work or home I have no data. I figure this is just a setting, but I do not know what to fix. The mobile data in settings is toggled on.

You could try putting the phone in airplane mode for a few minutes, then turning airplane mode off and mobile data back on and see if that works.  If not, turn off the phone, remove the SIM card (be careful not to touch the gold contacts), wait a few minutes, then re-insert the SIM card, power the phone back on, and allow it a couple of minutes to re-establish a network connection.
