Just got the Tbolt and it will only connect at 1x speed. I have 4G and 3G in my area for sure. Please help.

No, this is not a brand new device. It is manufactured refurbished. With my prior device, which was a used Droid Razr Maxx, I received 4G lte with not hesitation and I have been in the same area for the last 3 months. I'm hoping the fact that it is refurbished is not the problem because I have read that others are having the same problem with a brand new device.
I had a TB for over 2 years and I never had a problem with 4G once it came to where I lived. My thought was the fact it may be a refurbished device and you answered that question.
Have you tried a master/factory reset?
No I haven't. Not sure how to do it.
Is this a new SIM card or the old one from your previous phone with an adapter?
It is a new SIM card, I got it direct from a Verizon Store.
breezy21, we heard your distress call. I'm here to help. Have you downloaded 3rd party applications to your device? Some application software can affect the performance of it. I recommend that you uninstall any unwanted applications in:Settings>Manage Applications>tap the Application>tap UninstallOnce you've uninstalled a few applications, power your device off/on to soft reset it.
