Can someone help me understand how to move a folder from my gallery to my laptop? I need to then put them on a stick to give to a friend.

Phone connected to the computer with the USB cable? Phone set on MTP mode for the USB connection? Is there a Note 2 listed in the computer's file explorer?
Is the folder shown in the gallery a local folder on the phone?
