Apps and New Phone

i have two questions 1)i have an old verizon phone a friend gave me to use because my phone keeps getting worse and quite frankly idk how much longer it will last.how do i go about getting all of my information and number moved to this phone 2)i removed the sd card and put it into my 'new' phone.i put it back into the original phone and now there are certain apps that will not open.why and how do i fix this?-Stephanie
