MMS Issues

Does anyone else have issues sending pics or MMS to iPhone users? My pics and MMS videos have been failing to send mostly to iphone users but it also happens to other phones too. It doesn't matter if I'm sending them from my home (wifi enabled) or outside. My S3 is less than 6 months old. It's really frustrating!!

We would like to get to the bottom of this! Are you sending the MMS while your device is on WiFi? Try to turn off WiFi and send using cellular data. Does that work? Do messages go through to non-iPhone users? Please provide additional details so that I can better assist.

Hi Bronxcat,

Picture memories are important! Its important to be able to share those memories when needed with everyone. What happens when you attempt to send a picture message? Do you receive an error message? Picture messages are sent over the Verizon Wireless network. Please turn off the Wi-fi then send the picture. Keep me posted.

My husband is an iphone user and that is who I am sending them too. I did set up the MMS thing that I just found out about and it seems to be working even thou the quality is horrible. Better than nothing. Thanks

The quality is horrible because there is a size limit on MMS. If you want to send photos or videos of good quality,you're going to have to use a method other than MMS.

I figured it out!!!

I had the same problem, connected to wif and not able to send. Disconnect and it sent. I went threw my settings, everything was where it should be, I cleared cache, searched threw a million links and nothing. I was still getting my blue circle when trying to send MMS.

So question. Did you happen to click on limit data option? (apps > settings > data usage) in there you are given the choice to limit your mobile data usage. If that option is checked, uncheck it! This will allow your 4g network to send, receive, and download. It worked for me. I have a Galaxy 3. I hope it works for anyone else that has this problem! Cheers!

This makes sense, MMS is sent over mobile data and, if it is disabled (whether on purpose, or due to a set limit), then it won't work, even if your wifi is enabled.

I have 2 new GS4's and it won't send photo and txt (sometimes, hit or miss) - error msg=MMS failed. disconnected WiFi and changed Gobal to LTE something as someone suggested and it still doesn't work although I didn't get a failed MMS message. Talked with the txt recipient and they got the txt msg without photo, but not the txt mesg WITH a photo.

currently I am home with a secure WiFi. I have data limit usage enabled and like a lot of other verizon customers i am getting really POed that i have to jump through so many hoops and it still doesn't work right. I have unlimited txt messaging but can only send what verizon will allow.

it would seem to me that the verizon geeks need to figure out what is going on. according to a google search this issue is over a year old.

MMS is sent over mobile data 4G link? That is nonsense and a way for verizon to make more money - or so it appears. My home wifi internet connection is 10 times faster than the 4G network - why would i want to use 4G - PLUS, why should i have to pay additional charges on my so-called unlimited text and phone messaging?

If i have the facts incorrect, please inform me.

MMS is sent over a cellular connection but you aren't charged for the data; they count against your text package.

Picture messaging is one of the best ways to share memories with friends, family, and loved ones. We want you to enjoy this amazing service along with all other services on your device. May I ask are you able to browse the web and access the Google Play store on your GS4 without the use of wifi? Also, is there any physical or liquid damage on your phone? If not then please turn off wifi & bluetooth, do a sim card pull, & power cycle the device. Also, please erase some of the long threaded messages before retesting to ensure that enought device memory is available. Once you have done so, please share your findings.

the issue here is not with a device not working properly, but rather with Verizon's implementation of MMS. I would suggest that you read the full thread before responding in the future.

I am experiencing "infinite" send times trying to send pics on messaging to a friend who is a TMobile user. This started only a few days ago on my Samsung Galaxy Stellar. When it happens, I can cancel the message by tapping the pic, tapping the hard settings key (triple-dot), and choosing 'delete message', which kills the whole message and stops the blue rotating circle. These fails happen both on 3G/4G and on my 17Mb/sec home WiFi.

I still have (to the best of my knowledge) the non-upgraded default Verizon messaging app, because I read bad things about the upgrade which came out a few weeks ago. Is this MMS failure perhaps a push to those of us who haven't upgraded yet? According to my phone's notification page, messaging is not on the up-to-date list or suggested for upgrade, so I'm not sure whether it was auto-upgraded or not. I might have to acquiesce to the upgrade because I would need it to do messaging with the new Windows desktop messaging app. As others have said, I am paying $10/month for my messaging package, and I want ALL of it, not just part of it.
