Global Plan settings

My son is traveling to Italy for 3 weeks. I have him signed up for the $29.99 Global plan. Do I need to make any changes to the S4, specifically the "Global Data Roaming Access" which is currently set to "Deny data roaming access" or the "Network Mode" which is currently set "LTE/CDMA"?

When we gets there he would change it to Global and allow roaming. This will allow him to access the local GSM cellular carrier and its voice and data network.
